Schedule For Bill Clinton

January 28, 2004

Meet Voters in Mount Vernon, Georgia

Speech in Poplarville, Mississippi

The legacy of the old South was is strong here with the lynching of Mack Charles Parker on what many believe to be fabricated rape charges back in 1959 looming large here. Governor Barbour has done more on this front than any Mississippi Governor before him, offering a posthumous pardon for Parker on the original rape charge. However Hillary's campaign, and many in the African-American say this is not enough. Mississippi only ratified the Thirteenth Admendment ten years ago for example. We believe Mississippi needs to make an effort to create a more inclusive society, to lift the people of Mississippi out of the realms of the poor and impoverished, as you were the lowest income in the country last year, to lift the people from the disturbingly morbid obesity they now face here, as Mississippi now faces one of the highest rates of obesity among all the nations citizens, In short stop caring about more than the dollars you bring in and start caring about what those dollars do.

Meet Voters in Picayune, Missouri

Speech at the John C. Stennis Space Center, Hancock County Mississippi

A Hillary Clinton administration will revitalize the space program that the Bush Administration has left languishing. We were supposed to begin to ramp down the use of Space Shuttles and begin to build new technology at the end of my administration. Unfortunately President Bush has decided to take the lazy way out, and it cost us with the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. A Hillary Clinton Presidency would phase out the space shuttles in favor of new technology, continue to supply the International Space Station, return to the Moon by 2010, and put an Astronaut on Mars by 2013.

January, 29, 2004

Meet Voters in Franklinton, Louisiana

Speech in Bogalusa, Louisiana

Back in the 1960's Boglusa was the home to group called the Deacons for Defense and Justice which sought to return the violence the African-American Community faced with violence often in opposition with individuals like Roy Wilkins, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Julian Bond. As Americans we side with Wilikins, Bond and Rev. King. No matter who you are fighting, what you fighting, vigilantism is not the answer and if anything, only makes the issue worse.

Meet Voters in Varnado, Louisiana

Meet Voters in Osyka, Mississippi

Speech in McComb, Mississippi

So I opened The New Orleans-Times Picayune today and I saw an article about Senator Biden's attack ad at Secretary Rumsfeld... While I realize what you're trying to do Joe, you really should be thinking about your own campaign. Yes, the ad is accurate, and it makes sense, but right now this is stuff you should be saving for a general election, or letting one of Secretary Rumsfeld's primary opponents use it instead. There's just no point to use it now.

January 30, 2004

Meet Voters in Magnolia, Mississippi

Speech at Temple B'nai Shalom, Brookhaven, Mississippi  (American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee Ceremony honoring, Avraham Shochat, Gomen Segev, Abdelrouf al-Rawabdeh and Amr Moussa)

The individuals behind me have decided that no matter what their personal feelings towards each others respective countries or for each other, they will work as hard as they can to keep peace in the Middle East, which why an award and buffet lunch has been arranged.

Meet Voters in Holcomb, Mississippi

Speech in Grenada, Mississippi

I know many of you here won't remember 1966, but back then James Meredith went on a march for voting rights, and it passed right through here. The town officials said they would people to register, and those registrars registered a thousand African-American citizens onto the rolls. After the march passed through, the registrars were fired and it was later revealed that none of the thousand who were registered actually made it on to the voter rolls. Compare to what's going on in Harris County, Texas, where the Houston Chronicle reported that the Harris County Board of Elections were deliberately removing people, mostly Democrats and Independents who had no valid reason to purged from the voter rolls other than the likelihood of voting against the Republican nominee. The Harris County District Attorney refused to touch the case, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott refused to investigate and said on December 4, 2003 to the Austin-American Statesman that he supports such action, and Attorney General John Ashcroft is too partisan to deal appropriately with an issue like this. While race isn't a factor in what's going in Harris County, it's still disenfranchisement, and it should be dealt with harshly.

Meet Voters in Hickory Flat, Mississippi

January 31, 2004

Meet Voters in Piperton, Tennessee

Cookoff Fundraiser at Harrah's Tunica Mardi Gras Casino (Also For Tom Daschle, Barack Obama, Daniel Hynes, Gerry Chico, Joe Hoeffel, John Neely Kennedy, Chris John, Tony Knowles, Bennie Thompson and Gene Taylor) (Doing the Cooking; Bill Clinton, Mario Batali, Masahilko Kobe, Masaharu, Morimoto and Nigella Lawson)

Meet Voters in Capelville, Tennessee

Speech in Dyersburg, Tennessee

Less than two weeks from, the State of Tennessee will vote on our next nominee, and while your most famous native son may have endorsed Senator Edwards, we are by no means sitting ducks in this race. Indeed we will contest the nomination here, we are contesting Senator Biden's Home State of Delaware, We are Contesting Senator Edward's birth State of South Carolina... If we think we can win, we will go for it!

Hillary Clinton Campaign Schedule;

January 28, 2004

GOTV in Mohall, North Dakota

GOTV in Loraine, North Dakota

GOTV in Sherwood, North Dakota

January 29, 2000

GOTV in Phoenix, Arizona (Morning)

Speech at the Arizona Heart Institute of America, Phoenix, Arizona

I'd like to welcome Senator Edwards back to the campaign trail. His convalescence drew attention to heart disease, a health issue many Americans ignore until it is too late. As President, I will appoint as Secretary of Health and Human Services and Surgeon General, individuals who can warn and remind the nation of costs both physical and emotional of heart disease, and help guide Americans into a lifestyle that can prevent it.

January 30, 2004

Speech at the Linda Hall Library, Kansas City, Missouri (With Emanuel Cleaver)

The recent ad Joe Biden aimed at Secretary Rumsfeld, completely amazed me in it's audacity. While it's true that Rumsfeld met with Saddam Hussein in the late 1980's and now has invaded his country and is trying to kill him, Senator Biden seems to forget that circumstances change. We recognized the Soviet Union in 1933 and I'm pretty sure nobody ran radio ads against Harry Truman, or anyone else caught in the Red Scare of being a supporter of Josef Stalin, which makes Biden's ad, all the more ludicrous.

GOTV in Kansas City, Missouri (With Emanuel Cleaver)

January 31, 2004

GOTV in St. Louis Missouri (All Day, With William Lacy Clay)

February 1, 2004

GOTV in Charleston South Carolina, (All Day, With Jim Hodges)

February 2, 2004

Speech in Hanahan, South Carolina

We're just two back of Edwards people! We have the momentum. We have the political talent, and we have the positions to win here, in Missouri, in North Dakota, in Arizona, in Oklahoma, in New Mexico. We even have the ability to win in Delaware if Senator Biden wasn't running.

February 3, 2004

No matter how anyone wants to spin tonight's results, winning the most states out of all the Democrats remaining, and earning the most delegates of all the Democrats remaining, is not just a Pyrrhic victory, or a moral victory, but a true victory. I've Congratulated Senator Biden on his win in New Mexico, and Representative Kucinich on his victory in North Dakota. Next up it's Michigan and Washington, and I've got a good feeling about both States.

Hillary Clinton Debate answers

As President I will instruct General John Abazid and Lt. General David McKiernan the people currently responsible for our military  in Iraq to do one of two things; Bring in enough troops to actually deal with the building sectarian violence against the forces currently there, or develop a plan for a safe, efficient withdrawal of our troops already there.

Healthcare Reform is something that I'm just not sure Republican Party, or Business interests in this country really want. When I tried to shepherd a Health Care Reform bill through Congress in the early 1990's, the Republicans, and even some Democrats, would move the goalposts further and further back. Also, why would anyone assume either house of Congress (let alone both) will have a Republican majority, this far out from election day?

Run for re-election

February 6

Rally at the Portland Exposition Building, Portland, Maine

My Colleague, My good friend from New York, is on the road to victory, and we're going get her there! Now, I know she may not have the puritanical ideals that some of you... Medea Benjamin, Jodie Evans, Joan Blades, we're talking about you... want, but no one lives in a utopia, and Hillary can win in November, especially in an open seat.

Speech at the Bangor Auditorium, Bangor, Maine

When Senator Jeffords left the Republican Party he voted with us a bit more... When Senator Jeffords endorsed Senator Clinton, for President, he said on the Senate floor that if he ran for re-election again, it would be a a Democrat. Since Senator Snowe and Specter have endorsed Senator Biden, and given this polarized political climate, is it fair to presume they are at least interested in switching parties?

Schedule for Bill Clinton

February 4, 2004

Speech at Clark College, Vancouver, Washington

I know it's a little bit early to be talking about Earth Day, and all... But this university produced one of the greatest advocates for the environment, we live in, in Denis Hayes, who supervised the very first Earth Day, all the way back in 1970, to taking it to a worldwide call to action in places as far-flung as Washington D.C's National Mall, Tahrir Square in Cairo, Tienanmen Square in Beijing,  Tiergarten Park in Berlin, The Palace of Versailles, The Old Course at St. Andrews, Yankee Stadium and Grant Park in Chicago. He's gotten millions to start caring about the environment, not with just words, but with action. That's what separates Hillary Clinton from the Kucinich's and and the Edwards's  of the world.... We don't just talk about what we're going to do, we actually do it!

Interview with Joe Donlon (KGW/NBC 8 Portland, Oregon/Vancouver,Washington) for Broadcast on the 11:00 PM (Thursday) edition, Yacolt, Washington

So Mr. President, do you believe that Senator Clinton is now the favorite to become the Democratic nominee?
Joe, I think it's still too early to tell. Senator Kucinich has surprised us once, he easily could do so again, Senator Biden's run an excellent campaign so far, and Senator Edwards, health problems not withstanding, still has the calendar on his side, with Tennessee and Virginia voting on the Tenth, and the remaining Southern States voting on the Ninth of March.
Would you be willing to campaign for a nominee that isn't Hillary Clinton?
Given Hillary's leading in delegates right now, I don't see why the question is necessary, but yes I would be willing to campaign for Biden, Kucinich or Edwards if they became the nominee, and I'm certain Hillary would put winning in November over pettiness in that scenario.
How do predict Hillary will do in Washington and Michigan?
It wouldn't surprise me if she lost both, and it wouldn't surprise me if she won both, but since I nailed the results in Iowa, I'll go out on a limb and say she wins both Michigan and Washington, but Biden and Edwards are able to rack up delegates as well.
What about the Republican Side of the race? What do predict there?
First, I'd like to state that I thought Secretary Rumsfeld dropped out too quickly. We had internal polling that had him ahead in Michigan, Nevada, and Maryland, but I guess his polling said something different. As for the upcoming states? I'm going out on a limb and guessing that Governor Johnson will take Washington, and that Giuliani will win Michigan.
Do you believe there will be a competitive race for the Democratic Nomination when Oregon votes on May Eighteenth?
While I can't say beyond a reasonable doubt who we will have as our nominee, I think I can safely say we will have nominee by Mid-May. That doesn't mean we won't be campaigning in Oregon though as from what I recall, Oregon has a recent history of being a swing state,

GOTV in Battle Ground Washington

GOTV in Washougal, Washington

February 5, 2004

GOTV in Connell, Wisconsin

GOTV, Yakima. Wisconsin

Interview With Zubair Ahmed Siddiqui for Dateline Pakistan (To be aired on Monday February 9, 2004 Pakistan time), Union Gap, Wisconsin

Does Senator Clinton think of Pakistan as an ally or an enemy?

I'm not sure she thinks in such stark black-and-white terms regarding Pakistan. She certainly doesn't see it as a consistent ally, but more so as someone who, in our hour of need offered to help us. Just because they aren't doing all they can doesn't mean they aren't trying.

In terms of the Israel situation, Senator Clinton is one of the few proponents of moving the U.S Embassy to Jerusalem, and our President Pervez Musharaff, has opened disscussion to open an embassy in Beersheba. The question I ask is, if you accept that Jerusalem is the capital of a "Jewish State" than does a country have to put their embassy there.

Hillary and I actually share different views on this subject. While for me the answer is yes, without a doubt. Hillary and to a lesser extent people  like Latvian President Vaira Vike-Freiberga, Former Latvian Prime Minister Andris Berzins, Former Kazakhstani Prime Minister Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and UN Secretary General Kofi Annan believe, that even if you believe with all your heart that a capital is in one place, there's no reason why your'e diplomats can't be somewhere else. Hillary may not apply that with Israel, I don't know what she's thinking on that issue, but there's no reason why you couldn't put the embassy for our country in Chicago, instead of Washington D.C, or why the Irish couldn't put their embassy to England in Belfast, instead of London.

Do you believe Senator Clinton has a plan to find Osama Bin Laden?

She better, or there's no way she's getting elected.... Really though she'll need to talk with people on the ground, be it the commanders in Afghanistan, or your commanders in Pakistan, to determine the right approach. After three years of slipping away, Bin Laden could be anywhere from an apartment in Abbottabad, to a shipping container in Karachi, to still being in the caves of Tora Bora. Both America and Pakistan must remain vigilant against Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda, because as we know, he targets anyone he thinks is an unbeliever, even if they are believers.

Guntaker was banned for being 11 years old, so Biden is out.
Ahaha. I wonder how NHI will spin Biden's withdrawal in this game.
Is it too soon to ask for Biden's endorsement?

Perhaps Biden could be offered to a new player? (or an old one, like Riley)

I'd rather have his endorsement, but giving him to Riley is fine with me as well.

New Endorsements for Hillary Clinton

DeltaPlex Arena, Grand Rapids, Michigan

I am proud to endorse Hillary Clinton for President, because not only is she a match for Michigan, She's the one who will break the so-called "glass ceiling" of becoming a major party nominee. She's the one who can, and will win in November, and the women of America are living in the past if they still think she can't.

Cass Technical High School, Detroit, Michigan

Obviously, I wouldn't be endorsing Senator Clinton, if I didn't at least believe she could win the nomination. And when she does so, no matter how well or poorly she does in November, she will be telling the African-American community, that it's possible to break that particular glass ceiling.

Comerica Park, Detroit, Michigan

I saw Rep. Conyers endorsement speech this morning on MSNBC, and I agree with everything he said, but I'd like to add my own two cents. Hillary Clinton if she wins the nomination, as I believe she will, will be a symbol for more than just the women of America. She'll be a symbol for every group in this country that has not had a member of one of the most exclusive fraternities of the world, the Presidency of the United States. African-Americans, Jews, Muslims, Women, Atheists, Mormons, Native Americans, all will watch Hillary, hopeful that her victory will plow the road for one of their own. I believe that what Senator Clinton showed us during the dark days of her husband's crisis, and the brave face she put on, when the state she represented was attacked by terrorists, will allow her to withstand the great pressure to win. I'm endorsing Hillary Clinton, because she represents a more inclusive future, and because she represents steel and fire in dark times.

Raymond, Washington

I thought about endorsing Senator Edwards, but then I realized we have Hillary Clinton, with a lead of a single point, over a Dennis Kucinich, who while doing better than anyone could have possibly imagined, will never win the White House in my home state! From there it basically boiled down to as Governor, would I rather want to deal with Clinton as President, Edwards as President or Kucinich, and the choice became clear. I'm endorsing Hillary Clinton, because she's someone the Governor of Washington, the Governor of Texas, the Governor of Ohio or the Governor of New York can go to with a massive problem, and get a logical answer.

KeyArena, Seattle, Washington

Us Representatives have to get re-elected every two years, no matter what the political climate, and while I'm in good shape, what about those of us like Brian Baird, Martin Frost, Chet Edwards, Ben Chandler, Charlie Stenholm, Harold Ford Jr. and Gene Taylor, who are in much more competitive districts? They, like I, all want to see turnout from our party go up, and there is only one candidate remaining who can do that- Hillary Clinton.

Morven, Georgia

Look, John Edwards is going to do well here in the primary... but in the General Election, Hillary Clinton's been through the fires of two of them. There's an invaluable experience that one gets as the spouse of a Presidential candidate, that one can use if they wish to run one their own, as Rosalynn Carter told me, back in 1986. I believe Hillary will take her words to heart, use all she learned in 1992, 1996, and her election to the Senate in 2000, and walk away a winner in November.

Perry, Georgia

Hillary Clinton is the candidate we, as Georgians have had since Jimmy Carter. I know that sounds like hyperbole to most of you, but in 1976 Carter ran the campaign of his life and got elected President in the shadow of Watergate. Now, Hillary Clinton, is running the campaign her in the shadow of a President who has ordered a in illegal, and downright stupid invasion into Iraq, and excessive secrecy, paranoia, and the rumored leaking to journalists of a CIA agents identity. John W. Dean Nixon's counsel, is writing a book, where he described the actions the Bush Administration has taken as "Worse than Watergate". And he should know. Just as Jimmy Carter was needed to clean up Nixon's mess, so too do we need a Democrat to clean up Bush's bungling, and I believe that Democrat is Hillary Clinton.

Camak, Georgia

I've been told that I'm "the Georgian Bill Clinton" from people who know us both, so it's only natural for me endorse Hillary's Presidential bid.

Hidden Meadows, California

Having Served as the Secretary of the Army in the Clinton Administration, I know that Hillary Clinton is as capable, if not more so of being commander-in-chief than her husband. I am proud to be the one of the first Clinton Administration officials to endorse the Hillary Campaign.

Acworth, Georgia

I thought about endorsing my former colleague Joe Biden, and if he wins the nomination I certainly won't hesitate to, but I believe Hillary Clinton is in a better position to win Georgia, and to win the Democratic nomination for President, which is why she has earned my endorsement.

Hinesville, Georgia

Like Senator Nunn I thought long and hard about endorsing my former colleague Joe Biden, but I just don't believe he'll win the primary, and I don't believe he can make this state competitive in November. I believe Hillary Clinton can do that.

What happened to Edwards? Wasn't he leading the pack just a while ago?

OOC; He ended up in an Iowa hospital... that being said he's still in the race, and still has a great shot in both Tennessee and Virginia.

It's not that Senator Edwards, Senator Biden, Representative Kucinich, Mayor Giuliani, Governor Johnson, or Senator Allen are bad people, it's that they don't have the fortitude to bring a project they start to the finish line. I know to many of you out here in Idaho, it feels like February Twenty-Fourth is a world, away... Well in reality, It's only three weeks away, and we have a tied race, between two excellent Senators. Now Hillary Clinton is the better candidate, in this primary, but the point is to elect Democrats in November to the legislature here, to Congress here, to the legislative bodies that comprise your counties. To neglect the upcoming primary, or to make Biden or Edwards the nominee, would be a critical mistake. Hillary Clinton is the candidate that can win in November, and provide the downballot momentum to elect Democrats across Idaho.

Schedule for Hillary Clnton

February 4, 2004

GOTV in Bellevue, Washington

Speech at Safeco Field (With Jay Inslee)

It's been almost ten years since the last strike in MLB, It's been ten years since the last NHL lockout, five years since the last lockout in the NBA, and seventeen years since the last NFL lockout. As President I will instruct the Secretary of Labor appoint dedicated arbitrators, with the skill to handle any kind of dispute within American Sports, whether it be a contract issue, the ramifications of fixing the NBA Draft Lottery, of George Steinbrenner's hiring a hitman to "dig up dirt" on your star outfielder or owners who will not financially support your favorite team.

Speech at CenturyLink Field, Seattle, Washington (With Jay Inslee)

Our Sporting World is in a crisis right now. There has never been a preponderance of individuals like, Baseball players Barry Bonds and Rafael Palmerio, Sprinter Kelli White, Shot Putter Randy Barnes, Zhanna Block, triple jumper, LaMark Carter, Sprinters Linford Christie and Ben Johnson, Michelle Collins, Marion Jones, Tim Montgomery, who seek to illegally use steroids and human growth hormone, to gain a clear-cut competitive edge on the playing field. As President I will push for legislation requiring that all professional sports leagues that do operation in this country, follow World-Anti Doping Agency rules on allowable substances, and on permissible penalties, and I will encourage the Justice Department to take action if necessary to do so.

February 5, 2004

GOTV in Colfax, Washington

Sppech at Beasley Coliseum, Pullman,Washington

Senator Biden has a new ad out that says when he wins, he won't sleep if there's extreme and dangerous weather throughout the country. Well Joe, I sure hope you're capable of not sleeping for eight years, because between Hurricanes in Miami, and Mobile, Blizzards that cover half the country, flooding on rivers like the Mississippi, Columbia, and Ohio, wildfires in the woods of the west, and drought, there is never a moment when, somewhere in America there is not a weather emergency.

GOTV in Tekoa, Washington

GOTV in Moscow, Idaho

February 6, 2004

GOTV in Caldwell, Idaho

Speech at Simplot Stadium, Caldwell, Idaho

Given the almost twelve years of vitriol aimed at me from almost everyone in the Republican Party, I'm surprised to even be getting twenty-five percent of the vote in this state in the primary, and I'll be surprised if our nominee gets twenty-five percent of the vote in November. Idaho you've been great!

GOTV in Marquette, Michigan

Speech at the Berry Events Center, Marquette, Michigan

Michigan votes tomorrow, and the latest public polls have us leading Biden and Kucinich by just two! Some of our internals over the past week have shown us leading Kucinich by just three, and Biden by less than a percentage point. Needless to say, we need all of you to vote for Hillary Clinton tomorrow.

February 7, 2004

Press Conference at Great Lakes Maritime Academey (To be followed by GOTV effort)

While today, is primary day in Michigan and Washington, it is also decision day for my campaign staff. Owing to the unexpected length of the campaign, and my desire for new ideas, I have approved a new campaign structure. This was a very difficult decision for me to make, as we had been doing so well to this point, but I feel that it is time to make some changes. I thank the departing staff for their invaluable assistance, without which we never would have gotten this far.

February 8, 2004 2:00 AM

Michigan Stadium, Michigan

Having called Representative Kucinich to congratulate him on a fine performance in Washington. But the reality is we tied in Delegates there and won in here in Michigan! We have built victories in a disparate coalition of states, ranging from Missouri and Oklahoma in the mid-south to New Mexico in the Southwest, to Michigan in the Rust Belt, to New Hampshire in New England. That is why we will win the nomination. And that is why we will win in November.

February 9, 2004 1:30 AM
Alfond Arena, Orno, Maine

I've received Representative Kucinich's congratulations on our performance here in Maine, and now I want to add one of our own. Kucinich has run the best campaign, of any politician of any party since George McGovern in 1972. But we, as the Democratic Party aren't going to let this be 1972 right? It's great to have the lead going into the winner take all section of our nominating process, and to my fellow Democrats, may the best candidate win.

Surrogate Schedules (Not including New Surrogates)

Senator Chuck Schumer

February 9

Run for re-election

February 10, 2004

Rally at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum (With Tom Suozzi)

Recently Senator Biden aired an ad, saying that Senator Clinton "betrayed the trust of the people of New York". Now here's the catch with that ad... Biden isn't airing here in New York, were the people who claim to have been "betrayed" by Senator Clinton live. I'll tell you why Biden won't air that ad here. It's because since 1964 if not earlier carpetbagging, and running for New York offices solely to bulid national stature has become accepted, if not commonplace. Robert Kennedy, was elected Senator here despite living most of life in Massachussets or Washington D.C, and I've heard rumblings that former Massachusetts Governor Willam Weld may run for Governor here in New York in 2006. Our State legislature is regularly ranked as the most corrupt in the country. So, Senator Biden, Hillary Clinton running for President before her initial term is up is the least of New York's worries, and most voters here, no matter what party they are registered with know that.

Voter Registration/GOTV in Long Island City, Queens, New York

Voter Registration/GOTV in Floral Park, New York (With Tom Suozzi)

February 10, 2004

Speech at Waconah Park, Pittsfield, Massachussetts

Over in neighboring New York, the focus has been on Hillary Clinton's supposed "betrayal" of New York constituents. Now I figure you Massachusetts voters would know about this all too well, being home base for the Kennedy family, which produced many Presidential contenders, in John F. Kennedy, Teddy Kennedy, and Robert F. Kennedy, who apparently got a little lost coming back from his job as Attorney General, and decided to run in my home state of New York instead. The Kennedy family has groomed every one of their elected officials to have Presidential ambitions throughout their career. As logical intelligent voters you know, that by Senator Biden's standards, they never would have able to run for President in today's long election process. They always would have lived in fear voters at home disapproving them, or voters on a National Stage disapproving of the work they did at home. As smart voters, I expect you'll realize, Senator Biden's advertisement will seem incorrect after all you've been through with the Kennedy's

New endorsements for Hillary Clinton

Jim Cooper
Gaylord Entertainment Center, Nashville Tennesee

I had a very difficult decision between Senators Clinton and Edwards. I chose Clinton in the end, because I believe eight years of being the most active first lady in history and three years of serving in the Senate outweighs six years of being a backbencher in the Senate, which is all the political experience John Edwards has.

Ned McWherter
Greenback, Tennessee

I've known Hillary Clinton since she was First Lady of Arkansas, and I've never seen a former first lady of any state, or of the national government, handle herself in the political arena, as well as she has. As much as I've come to like Elizabeth Edwards, she's got nothing on Hillary Clinton.

Douglas Wilder
Richmond Coliseum, Richmond Virginia

Hillary Clinton is the only candidate in either party that blends the old south, with the new realities of today's world. The states she has won so far shows she can build a broad coalition in November, and that's why I'm endorsing her.

Don Beyer
Galax, Virginia

I understand why John Edwards is leading in Tennessee, a Southern State, but I can't wrap my head around how he's doing so well in Virginia, a state where the candidate I'm endorsing today, Senator Clinton is leading... If regional voting patterns taught me anything, Hillary or Biden should be in the lead at the moment, not Edwards, but what do I know, I'm just a former Lieutenant Governor, not a political Scientist.

Anthony "Tony" Earl
Fox Cities Stadium, Appleton Wisconsin

We haven't lost Wisconsin since the Reagan years people! Even Michael Dukakis, who much of the media, and our party regards as one of the worst Presidential candidates we've nominated won here in 1988. Looking at our field this year, I see only one candidate that can keep that streak going, and that candidate is Hillary Clinton. She's the only candidate who took the Bush EPA to task on environmental issues after 9/11, she's one of the few Democrats who supports criminal charges against the leaker or leakers in the Valarie Plame affair, and she's one of the few politicians in either party who wants to return America to the moon, and send us on the road to Mars. I see very little I don't like here.

Barbara Lawton
Miller Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

It's more than just the idea of the the highest glass ceiling for the Women of America, being broken that makes me want to endorse Senator Clinton, though I am excited about that possibility... It's the fact that I strongly believe that Senator Clinton is the only Democrat who can win in November. Senator Edwards, was essentially a backbencher for his entire Senate career, Representative Kucinch would get flattened in November, and Senator Biden, I'm not sure he'll ever live his debacle with Neil Kinnock down. Hillary Clinton isn't just the strongest candidate in November she's the only candidate who can win in November.

Dave Obey
Brokaw, Wisconsin

Like Senator Jeffords and Senator Clinton, I once was a Republican. I can't exactly say they drove me out, like Senator Jeffords claims is his story, but what I can say is that as a young man in the 1950's I left the Republican party, because my teachers were being caught up in the Red Scare, and were being falsely accused of being communists. I switched parties and became a Democrat, and that change has stuck to this day, through five years in the State Assembly here in Wisconsin, and almost thirty-five years as a member of Congress. Today we have our own version of the Red Scare, with Republicans, led by President Bush and Vice-President Cheney, branding anyone that does not support their full agenda, as unpatriotic, a terrorist sympathizer, and ruining careers over these issues, much like they did with Valerie Plame. They have passed a PATRIOT act which allows them to spy on anyone they want, when they want. While the idea itself isn't a bad thing-no one denies we need to fight terrorism, the PATRIOT Act as it currently stands is ripe for abuse, and overuse. If elected President, Senator Clinton plans to correct this mess, which is why I am endorsing her.

Eleanor Holmes Norton
National Archives, Washington D.C

I know Senator Clinton doesn't support Statehood for us here in D.C, no one does. But what she does support, is greater autonomy for the District of Columbia, which would allow us to make our own local laws, provided they don't violate the U.S Constitution, which is generally something we can't even do now. That's an excellent step to get behind, and it's something none of the other candidates are interested in supporting. They just want D.C to be their personal laboratory mice. Well we in Washington D.C won't take it anymore, which is why I'm supporting Hillary Clinton for President!

Gerald Baliles
Vienna, Virginia

Hillary Clinton was the most active first lady since Eleanor Roosevelt, and Bill Clinton will be just the same, and that's what I'm judging all the candidates on, whether everyone contributes to the administrations goals. That has never been an issue with the Clinton's and that is why Hillary Clinton has earned my endorsement.

Neil Abercrombie
Aloha Stadium, Halawa, Hawaii

I know I'm probably going against the rest of the State here, but Hillary Clinton has earned this endorsement. She's been fighting the Republican Party on environmental issues that Hawaiians care about, and she's challenged Republicans on the ethical lapses that have cropped up in recent months. She is the candidate that can win in November 2004, and November 2008, with ease. Hillary Clinton is my candidate, and I hope she'll be your's as well.

Schedule for Hillary Clinton

February 9, 2004

Meet Voters in Babbitt, Minnesota

Interview with Arianna Huffington for The Washington Post, February 11th Edition in Hoyt, Lakes Minnesota

Senator Clinton, Roll Call Magazine did a listing of the most powerful U.S Senators in August of 2003 and you were the second most powerful Senator in either party, behind only Senator, only behind Senator Specter of Pennsylvania. In the same report you were listed as the sixth most powerful person in either House of Congress, behind, Speaker Dennis Hastert, Majority Leader Tom DeLay, the Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, Jim Sesenbrunner, the chair of the House Budget Committee Jim Nussle and Senator Leahy, who happens to be the Ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee. In other words you are already perceived to be more powerful than the leadership of your party in Congress, Nancy Pelosi and Tom Daschle. Why, if this is the case would you want to run for President, an office where you would arguably have less power, at all?

Arianna, there was a story that used go around in Washington, probably still does, that if a Senator looked in a mirror he (or she) would see a President staring at them. I didn't run solely out of ego gratification, I ran because I believe I can do the job.

Which remaining Democrat is your biggest threat?

I'd probably have to say it's Senator Edwards. There's a reason Al Gore endorsed him, and it's not because their both Southerners. Edwards has the potential to win, and win big in November, and certainly would be just as strong a choice as I am. Biden's a great Senator, but that's what he is, a great Senator. Kucinich isn't getting the nomination, it's just not happening.

Which of the remaining Republicans do you ultimately believe will win the nomination?

I'd like to say Giuliani, just because of idea of an All-New York Presidential race, but his positions on social issues don't fit the modern-day Republican Party. It'll probably be Senator Allen, unless Giuliani and Governor Johnson team up to deny him a majority of the delegates, which if Governor Johnson's tenacity is anything like Rep. Kucinich, may just be possible. Then we'd have a brokered convention, where we could see anyone from Don Rumsfeld to John Hoeven as the nominee.

Well, I spoke to Senator Edwards about ten minutes ago, and congratulated him on a pair of hard fought victories. We put everything we had into, Tennessee and Virginia, and we just couldn't win. But that's okay, because there are other contests ahead. We'll win Nevada, and Wisconsin, and Hawaii, and we'll clean house on Super Tuesday, and it's all thanks to you!

So apparently Defense Secretary Wolfowitz, announced yesterday may apply annually for release. I see a huge gaping hole here, however... The only reason Wolfowitz is bothering to announce this decision is because he knows that no one would agree to their release. He knows that the American military is free to continue the "harsh interrogation tactics" at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan, at Abu Gharib Prison in Iraq, and at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba. These tactics can be so vile, that no matter what any one else says, they can only be considered torture, and Wolfowitz is looking for a way to cover his derriere.

OOC: I wonder, by having Rumsfeld resign in September 2003 and with Wolfowitz forced to handle Abu Ghraib by himself, did I manage to save Rummy's reputation? xD

Schedule for Hillary Clinton

February 11, 2004

GOTV in Randall, Wisconsin

GOTV in Paddock Lake, Wisconsin

Speech in Kenosha, Wisconsin

Senator Biden's being slightly premature with his criticism of my perceived lack of support for raising the minimum wage. I'd be happy to vote for it in the Senate, and I'd be happy to sign it into law as President, but the problem is that we need sixty votes to pass it in the Senate, and Republicans and their corporate owners, people like Sheldon Adelson, and Micheal Bloomberg are going to stand united against any increase in the minimum wage. How does Senator Biden expect to corral sixty votes in the Senate, when counting myself, Senator Edwards and Senator Biden, there are only forty-eight of us, and he has little hope of winning over any of the fifty-one Republicans? How does he plan to get the bill out of committee in the House when we start  with two hundred and four Congressmen as opposed to the Republican majority of two hundred and twenty nine seats? I don't oppose the measure, not one iota, but I believe if we introduce it when we don't at least have a Congressional Majority it will die in Committee.

GOTV in Sturtevant, Wisconsin

February 12, 2004

Speech in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin

Senator Biden does know that we aren't, nor will ever be an empire? While we can restore the international prestige of our brand, so to speak, we should be aware that some people, and countries, such as North Korea or Venezuela, just won't like us. That's okay, we can't please everybody all the time.  Senator Biden's retelling of the ancient "Roman Citizen" canard, also rings false. If you tried to bring a dollar bill to Ramallah, you probably wouldn't last five minutes.

Joe Biden is completely wrong here, Senator Clinton said in her speech in Kenosha that she would vote for SB082 if it gets to the full Senate. She also promises that if Senator Biden is elected to the White House over her, to bring it to the Senate floor herself. That being said, she does not believe it would pass the House or Senate at this time, and that it would be wiser to wait until, at the minimum the Congressional Lame Duck Sessions. As for the commentary about the "Roman Citizen canard" our speechwriters tell, us the passage originally said, Kabul, but was changed to Ramallah by Senator Clinton on the stump.

Statement from Biden Campaign
February 15, 12:01am

We are pleased to announce that today in Wisconsin and Minnesota, Senator Biden will be endorsed by Representatives Tammy Baldwin, Ron Kind, and David R. Obey of Wisconsin, Representatives Martin Olav Sabo and Betty McCollum of Minnesota, and Mayor Randy Kelly of St. Paul, Minnesota and Mayor R. T. Rybak of Minneapolis, Minnesota. All seven will appear with Senator Biden today on the campaign trail, giving their endorsement in person, as well as penning Opinion editorials and granting interviews to their local media and speaking in support of Senator Biden through those channels.
I've had Obey for a couple of turns now... If he switched horses to back, NHI, could you please let me know?

I spoke to Senator Kucinich and congratulated him on an excellent performance in our Nation's Capital. I spoke to Senator Biden, and noted his solid second in Nevada. Now, however the real work, both of cracking the highest, hardest glass ceiling of them all, and of actually persuading the people that the issues the Democratic Party supports are the right way to go, really begin. We are only three weeks away from Super Tuesday, and every state is a battleground of ideas, such as raising the minimum wage, which Senator Biden has so kindly brought up, fixing the issues that have plagued our military since Vietnam (and certainly helped us in Iraq or Afghanistan), defeating the revival of the PATRIOT act, or creating trade that is both free and fair as opposed to one or the other. We as a party have a long way to go, both to secure a nominee, and to secure the implementation of our ideals for the future. Hopefully you'll be with us for the ride.
