Michael Bennet was already the kind of trash that needs to taken to the curb before this.

Bennett and Gardner are introducing Gorsuch I believe because he's from Colorado. It doesn't mean Bennett's going to be voting for his confirmation

I think the Democrats should do everything they can to hold up Gorsuch, but they should also signal to Trump that a different nominee would get through. If Gorsuch goes down and Trump either nominates someone 60+ years old or a moderate, I'd call that a victory.

The best political strategy for Senate Democrats is to allow hearings, show up for them, and enable the Senate to vote on Gorsuch. Allow a few Democratic Senators from conservative states to defect and vote for him, but ensure that 41 Democrats filibuster his appointment. Send out a few Democrats to signal that they'd be willing to vote for an appointment of a more moderate SCOTUS nominee if Trump is willing to nominate one. Then, if he does, allow a few more defections from swing states allowing the appointment of a compromise candidate.

Yeah, basically this. Then someone like Charles Canady (conservative but 62 years old) swoops in and saves the day

are you sure? there's a lot of competition

I am positive. There are a lot of other slimy, untrustworthy figures, but McConnell is easily the worst. He is willing to break institutions just to suit his political agenda, and then claims the moral high ground when the institutions he broke aren't immediately fixed in time for him to benefit from them not being broken. He is pure evil.

How is he the worse when you have Lyin' Ted who shuts down the government & filibusters all the time & was reading Green Eggs & a ham to his daughter during the filibuster but now wants to manipulate obscure old rules to eliminate the filibuster by letting the VP rule everything is budget reconciliation.

This guy has like no morals & can do anything & everything. The same guy who lied to Carson voters in Iowa that he dropped out to get their votes & made phony robo calls to Trump supporters. Remember when he announced Fiorina as his VP? He practises hugs & kisses for his Presidential video. He lies about everything. He is Lyinnnnn' Ted !

You can't do worse than that ! I shudder to think what will happen to the GOP if Lyinn' Ted is the POTUS or even the Senate Majority leader !

Cruz didnt normalise the near-constant use of the filibuster on all legislation. Cruz is a symptom of the problem that McConnell created
