Vapid celebration of the objectification of women and the imposition of beauty standards on said half of humanity.

Such claptrap... as if women are obsessed with their appearance only because of men.  Far from the truth.  They are obsessed with their appearance because of other women.

Quit putting women on pedestals... they are just as flawed as you and me... and much of the suffering imposed on them that is often blamed on men is actually self imposed or imposed by other women.

Oh, and also.. just shut up.  Thank you.

It's not because of men per se. It's because of capitalism.
Hmmmm, am I supposed to resubmit this here, or is this considered "self-submission?"

Don't play dumb, Mr. Morden. Why would he need the mother's permission? Women are 2nd class citizens in the great state of Oklahoma! Might as well be asking the pet goldfishes permission in Bushies view.

Now you know that's not true.  I will ask both, but in the old fashioned traditions, the girl's father is giving his consent to hand over care of his baby girl to another man.  We plan to bring back old fashioned traditions.  They are generally so much better than today's crap.

Context on this of course.

What about a nice gluten-free LA-style pizza with low-fat part-skim cheese, no-sugar-added sauce, and a single basil leaf baked on the top? Cheesy
Your city makes the entire nation of Italy cry. Tongue

FF. The whole running the the anti-Catholic ticket thing is a bit of a bummer, but I've always felt that in the English-speaking world, anti-Catholicism has often been a cover for pure anti-Irish bigotry. So I'm off the hook.

I guess Hitler is an FF too, since he didn't want to kill you either.  Right?

Ooh, hello Godwin! Anti-Irish bigots have often been quite capable of backing up their bigotry on quite reasonable grounds. The Irish (especially the diaspora, doubly especially Nth-generation descendants in the United States) can be quite quite awful people.

18 as a purchase age, no actual drinking minimum.  The best way to prevent unhealthy relationships with alcohol is for parents to expose kids to booze themselves, in moderation- that way it's not some sort of forbidden fruit.

FWIW I was 16 when I first had alcohol and that seems about "right".*

As for the scourge of drunk driving, the obvious solution is to raise the driving age instead.   Maybe start introducing learner's permits at 18, and don't issue full licenses until 21.  (I would also consider raising the age to serve in the military or to own firearms to 21, along with driving- the privilege of operating deadly machinery is not a right in the way that votin' or boozin' is, and really does need to be only entrusted to people who have demonstrated sufficient maturity.  Sorry folks.)

*I would not necessarily oppose a purchase minimum of 16, but it would have to be coupled with raising the driving age for me to support it; and I also don't think it's necessarily a bad thing for teenagers to be able to be exposed to alcohol before they're allowed to buy it themselves.

Terrible parts in bold.

Making my eyeballs bleed. Especially as someone who drives himself to school and everywhere else I need to be at any given time at 17.

Unsurprising but...

Considering how New York is the asshole of America, I agree with Cuomo-why would these good people want to waste their breath in a state that gave us Aaron Burr, Hillary Clinton, the Cuomos, Chuck Schumer, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Bloomberg, Bill DeBlasio, and Carlos Danger? I'd get the hell out of dodge and let the state fall on its own sword without taking me with it.

Perhaps should be cross-posted to the Irony Mine? Should be cross-posted to the Irony Mine...

He lives in Florida, doesn't he?
Yes Florida, a beautiful state mocked incessantly by Snowstalker, the leftist from Amish country and New Jersey. Florida is also a state that is bedeviled by out of staters moving south and doing harm. Take Charlie Crist, Rick Scott, and George Zimmerman for example.

Ummm dude, first off we are talking about the right to criticize New York. Say what you will about Lancaster and New Jersey, but New York? And if any state is the "asshole of America" it'd be Texas, not New York. I can't think of more stuck up assholes than Texas. Sure New Yorkers can be stuck up assholes, but here's the thing they have something to be proud of. Texans are stuck up assholes, because??

Albania seems to be the only country which not only likes, but borderline worships America. Truly they are deluded.

Glad to see you support the collapse of civil society. Wouldn't be surprised to find you approving of stealing or arson.

Someone with your sig is quoting a post about the collapse of a civil society? Oh the irony.
