Well, they voted for Breckenridge in 1860, so I'm guessing a fair number were at war or prison in 1864.  Or maybe Union soldiers made up the vote in 1864.

After reading a little on the internet, Fulton county in particular has an unpleasant history with plenty of lynchings and violence, so it's not much surprise that it was Wallace territory.

There's a reason why we in Missouri call Hickman County the doormat of Missouri. This may be it.

There is no Hickman County Missouri.

It where you wipe your feet before entering Missouri.
