The UNC and NC State games have both been canceled.

Certainly a blessing for UNC and probably for NC ST too.

NC State had better than coin toss odds of winning, and at worst would've lost to a ranked team. Not really a blessing.

Pity, I would have taken that bet.

Maryland needs to quit beating Texas to start the season.  It just gives fans fake hope

Congratulations to Kansas for winning their first back-to-back FBS games since 2009!

Rutgers is just horrible. But Kansas is going to go 0-7 in Big Twelve play anyways.

Maryland can still beat Rutgers and maybe Iowa and Illinois...

Not saying Maryland can't be mediocre and for those saying beating Texas is no great feat, they're right, it merely creates the illusion that you beat a great program.  It's kind of like beating Nebraska or Florida St. or Arkansas these days.

Speaking of Arkansas, they outgained North Texas 140 to 106 in the first half, and trail 34-10.

Ole Miss throws a 75 yd TD on the first play against Bama.  They shouldn't have done that, they'll just make Bama mad.

And it's 49-7 Bama at the half.  Bad strategy on Ole Miss part.

Will Grier (WVU) came into today's game against Kansas with a QB rating of 200.7 and had never thrown an int in the red zone in his 4 years at WVU.  He threw 3 in the first half and actually had to make a nice tackle to prevent one from being returned for a TD.  Doubt the Heisman voters will give him credit for that.  Kansas is still Kansas though and WVU is up 21-7 at the half.

A KU DB has 88 yds in int returns while the KU offense has 78 yds.

Pickin' the 10-point underdog Illini this week. Cool

While I'm sure that there have been weekends where more ranked teams lost, I can't think of a weekend where the Top 25 seemed so underwhelming as a group.  Save for LSU curbstomping Georgia, it was a lot of blah everywhere.

Congrats Tom! And more importantly, congrats America! The witch is dead!

Makes me feel a little better about the shellacking they put on Illinois, LOL.  Though I am under no illusions that Illinois is anything other than a bad football team at this point in time, their losses have, arguably, all been to good teams.  How they fare against a Maryland team that just got put down like a sick pet vs. Iowa will tell me much more.  Need to check out this week's picks and try to stay near the top. Smiley

Did you learn enough about Illinois this week?

Picking LSU to beat Alabama this week, wish me luck.

That's not a terrible choice for an upset pick.  If Alabama loses anywhere in the regular season, it will be here.

I just can't see LSU stringing together enough offense to win.

I think the question isn't how good LSU's offense is, but how good their defense is. If their Defense can shut down Alabama, a win is very possible.
A great defensive game by LSU would hold Alabama to 28 points.

Even though the Iowa-Illinois matchup is too utterly irrelevant to make it into our pick 'ems, I did pick the Illini in my work league. Smiley  Of course, my actual prediction is Iowa wins 42-31, but hey ... what the hell, why not?

Urban Meyer looked like he was going to drop dead a couple of times.  Literally.

Not really an LSU fan (though I have nothing against them) but they had so many borderline calls go against them on so many critical plays. Of course, the butthurt over this one will last a long time.  Glad I wasn't around LSU fans while I watched the game.

In Illinois-related news, Lovie Smith received AN EXTENSION?HuhHuh

Not gonna criticize the move because hey, maybe it will pay off. But have fun going up against Frost and Fleck, who will have similar roster experience as well as two of the three longest tenured real P5 coaches for good reason.

Brohm would be wise to get out.

Between football and politics, it's like RINO is living in hell and we all get to watch.
