I believe Bayh does have more charisma than Warner. Perhaps Warner is better able to come across as folksy and an average guy than Bayh, but Bayh is much more tele/photo-genic. I think Bayh exudes more optimism. Plus, yes he has much more experience-  he was gov- I think for two terms- and now has Senate credentials. Warner has only one term- and can't be reelected, so will have Jimmy Carter experience in a post 9/11 world. Also Bayh is from a well known political family, so probably has higher name recognition- or will once the press starts really covering the race ("Oh, yeah, didn't his dad run for President in the 70s?")

I think Mccain could beat Hillary. I don't think Mccain will be given the chance to prove it.

McCain is the only potential candidate that would gurantee victory for his party.

Yeah, but it's only his party on Mondays and Wednesdays- They'll give it to a full time "believer."

Squishy being independent and open minded?

The thing I like about McCain over Hillary is his independence. Bush and Hillary both are bought and paid for, riding the coattails of  coalitions a family member put together for them. It seems to me McCain refuses to taint himself in that way, and is clearly his own man.

That said, I'd probably vote for Hillary- especially if the GOP still controls congress and the Court has moved right.

The only politician NOT about TV face time is Bush because his aides are so afraid of how stupid he'll sound. It'd be nice to have a leader not afraid of the media.

Tempting as it may be to vote for the best Repub while you vote for one of the worst Dems, I think I'll vote in the Dem primary for someone other than Hillary. Call me old fashioned, but I like voting for the one I want to be the nominee. Naive enough to think it makes a difference. I'll likely vote Bayh, Edwards, or Gore.

Get Schwartzenegger eligible and you've got a deal though.
