In the North-West and North-Center the Reps are strong and getting stronger. What are the cultural and sociological reasons for this trend? Can someone refer to articles on this issue? The Dems are becoming the socially liberal party, and the NE is a socially liberal inclined region. Socially, the midwest has always been somewhat conserative, but true social liberalism among national politicans in America is fairly new.

In the sixties and seventies blue and red were almost the opposite to what they are today. Do you say that the Dems in the north east in 2004 are like the Social Democrat parties in Europe? |
