I am actually going to NM from Thursday through Monday doing door to door in Las Cruces, NM luckily its kinda already leaning Obama.  Anything is better than Texas though.

Seems like obama should be close in Texas if he's winning the Hispanic vote 2-1?

Obama winning Texas and he could tell PA to go f it self.

Wonder if Hillary would be doing better or if he picked Richardson as Vp?

Texas Hispanics are so disorganized and misinformed on the issues, and I am not just saying this because they aren't all voting Democratic but because we as a group have a very low turnout which pisses me off.  I mean even if they vote Republican I don't care as long as we are voting.

It seems Hispanics in TX are more conservative than Hispanics in NM.

Let's see what happens if Obama wins 60% of TX Hispanics on Election Day, using 2004 composition:

White (66%): Obama 25%
Hispanic (20%): Obama 60%
African-American (12%): Obama 95%
Others (2%): Obama 60%

Obama gets 41% of the vote in TX.

If Obama manages to increase Latino or African-American tunout, or get close to 30% among Whites, he could move up to about 45% of the vote overall.

That's an excellent attitude and one I applaud.

Are those really the sort of turnout numbers one would expect for Hispanics in New Mexico? Yikes. Or do a lot of the Spanish-ancestry-identifying "Hispanics" call themselves white?

Obama's campaign has really organized early voting very well here.   I've been badgered about it on the streets about 7 times within the past two weeks by 7 different people in 3 different (highly Democratic) counties.

That's good for them, especially in rural areas.  New Mexican Democrats are horrible at turning out on Election Day.  I think there are probably more Democrats than Independents and Republicans combined, but the Indies and Republicans actually take the time to show up while us Dems are busy getting high on meth and eating pinto beans every November.

Why are they more Conservative?

The GOP uses them like a panta when their voters in the redneck south start complaining about their jobs being took.

Its like the Gop only likes the Mexican vote when they need to hold Texas and AZ after the elections then its back to " Those damn illegals".

You know that something weird is going on with SUSA when their NM poll looks like the best sample of the last few.
