This seems realistic; there is plenty of room for McCain for improvement.

The internals are screwed up a little bit, though - the gender gap is huge.

I am still iffy about SUSA. Obama only leads if he runs alone or with the state's governor?

VP polls = Trash

This just makes me hope that Obama and McCain pick their VP's soon so these ridiculous polls can be done.

I want to beat down whomever it is that thinks this Fiorina has any shot in hell of ever being remotely considered for a VP slot.

I'm disappointed they didn't bother to poll the fascinating Obama/Bloomberg vs. McCain/Bloomberg matchup.

Good poll, but LOL at Fiorina.

She drove morale into the ground as CEO and effectively killed the Bill & Dave style of management that had run the company since its founding.... This certainly won't help McCain in states like Colorado and Oregon that have had large numbers of HP employees over the years. Of course, the merger with Compaq has come to be regarded as a success, although opinion looked decisively different at the time.

The psychology involvement in these VP polls makes them retarded (almost as retarded as the idea of Fiorina on a ticket.)

Ask a person if they're voting for Obama or McCain and they'll give you an answer. Now ask if they'll vote for Obama/______ or McCain/______ blank and continue with different names in the blanks. Most people will just answer Obama or McCain down the line, but some people might figure that makes them "close-minded" and thus will change their answer with some VP with high name recognition. In reality almost no one will change their mind on the basis of the VP.

I'm really getting close to weighting these SUSA VP polls down significantly, if not all SUSA polls.  They're making me extremely uncomfortable.

My neighbor down the street's got a doctor whose cousin is from Minneapolis; he could make MN competitive for McCain and I'm pretty sure he's a Republican.

Why the hell is SUSA excluding this highly-qualified candidate from their polling?

Why is that? The internals or because they are outliers, or something else?
