Ohio right now is very Republican and has elected a Republican to everthing. Ohio latley has has had massive landslides in state govt but narrowly choose George Bush in 2000 and was even carried VERY NARROWLY by Bill Clinton in 92 and 96. As a Buckyee I dont see the Democrats winning Ohio in a Presidential Election or even Senate. They may win the governors race but that will be iffy.

In 1992, Clinton won by only 1 point, or 100,000 votes. I would hardly call Ohio a narrow win in 1996 and it was narrow, but not "VERY NARROW" in 1992. I see Ohio drifting Demcoratic in upcoming years. I think Ohio is finally starting to realize that the Republicans' economic policies are not beneficial to them. The fact that Ted Strickland currently leads Ken Blackwell by double digits and the fact that the incumbent GOP governor has a 15% approval rating spells "iffy" for the Democrats. |
