Title: TX-Rasmussen: Abbott+12
Post by: Tender Branson on March 05, 2014, 12:45:46 PM
Texas Governor: Abbott (R) 53%, Davis (D) 41%

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2014/texas/election_2014_texas_governor

Huge gender gap:

Quote
Davis leads among women voters 53% to 41%, but Abbott leads among men by better than two-to-one - 66% to 29%.

Each candidate earns 91% support from voters in their respective party. Abbott leads 50% to 37% among unaffiliated voters.

This race isn't gonna get closer.

Davis should have ran for Lieutenant Governor; I'd hate to see a blowout of 10 points.

Closer than I'd expect, to be perfectly honest.

Rasmussen often has odd post-primary bumps, but the majority of this poll was probably taken before last night.

Ya, although this was post Nugent-gate also which probably temporarily brought down his numbers a few percent among women

Davis leads by that much among women? That surprises me quite a bit.

Then again, it's Rasmussen, so I don't even know why I clicked on the thread.

I know it's Rasmussen, but it is nice to have a poll that wasn't conducted online (i.e., UT/TT poll). They're about where I'd expect; the primaries showed Wendy has work to do in south Texas especially. But OC your claim is flat out wrong.

Primary results rarely have much to do with general election results. She'll do fine in the Rio Valley, at lest relative to any other gringa Democrat.
