Title: What are the differences between being President in different time periods?
Post by: Blue3 on May 24, 2013, 10:44:48 PM
People often say that the office of the presidency has become more powerful (or the expectations changing) over time, with the modern presidency basically being post-FDR. Presidents didn't always actively campaign, presidents didn't always vocally give a SOTU address, presidents weren't always elected by every citizen over the age of 18, presidents didn't always have television to use as a medium, etc.
