Title: Obama/Biden vs Santorum/Palin 2008

Title is self-explanitory. Discuss with maps. Does Obama reach 400EVs? 450? 500?

Awesome, I can post maps now!

As you can see I don't have that many states flipping to Obama. I think he picks up Montana, Missouri and Arizona, but that's it. Georgia's a tossup that I think Santorum narrowly wins.

Other than that, some red states are darker and some blue states are lighter, but that's about it.

Obama/Biden: 389
Santorum/Palin: 149

Interesting scenario! I would have loved to see Obama destroy Santorum in the debates in 2008. I think that Obama would end up carrying Arizona, Georgia, Missouri by fairly slim margins while Santorum would do much better in the South and Midwest than McCain did and might make Iowa and Ohio somwhat closer than in RL. In addition, Santorum might have won all of Nebraska's congressional district electoral votes. Overall, Obama would have won by a landslide if Rick Santorum got the Republican nomination in 2008.

I'll be generous. Obama/ Biden only win the states they lost by less than ten points, getting 418 electoral votes to Santorum's 120.

379 (54.7%) - 159 (43.4%)

Santorum puts off most moderates, but he does a little bit better than McCain in some Midwest/Rust Belt blue-collar areas. Still he likely doesn't do better overall than McCain in any state.
