What percentage of voters know much about Nate Silver?

What percentage of voters know much about Nate Silver?

Similarly, what percentage of people don't instantly equate "Gallup" with "good pollster"? It will take a while for that to change.

I think Morden pointed this out recently, but figures with low name recognition almost inevitably have bizarrely high negatives -- apparently people who lie about recognizing names are more apt to say they have negative views.  No idea why, but obviously happening here.

Also, it would at first seem disingenuous to trust an individual over an organization.

Really? With no additional information it would be my default instinct to trust the individual.

Hmm, as political junkies we may be in a bit of a bubble. I mean how many people who don't really care that much about politics have actually heard of Nate Silver? His name recognition has certainly gone up since Election Day but my guess is most folks heard/read his name once in the immediate aftermath of the election and that was about it. So no surprise then to see them trusting Gallup more.

What percentage of voters know much about Nate Silver?

That could be less than the 14% who picked him.
