He could go the Lincoln Chafee route, and only do campaign events within driving distance of his house.  Otherwise, I'm not sure how long the campaign can continue like this.

Which candidates don't even have big Super PACs to prop them up though?  I wouldn't expect too many billionaires to be propping up the candidacy of George Pataki, for example.  The winnowing might still happen for candidates who can't even get people to donate to their cause by giving to PACs with no donation limits.

Perry now down to one paid staffer in Iowa.  And both of the co-chairs of his Iowa operation have defected to other candidates: One to Rick Santorum, and the other to Donald Trump:

Perry continues to pay one staffer in Iowa and one in South Carolina:

He needs to keep that up for at least the next couple of weeks, in order to qualify for the CNN debate.

Perry says he’s not dropping out because “a broken clock is right once a day”:

He seems to be unfamiliar with AM and PM.

I think it's time we all reckoned with the question posed in this article:

It would be amazing to watch somebody drop out before another candidate (Biden) even gets in.

It's not that amazing.  It happens all the time.  E.g., in 2007, Gilmore and Tommy Thompson dropped out before Fred Thompson entered the race.
