just so we're clear, it is bad to threaten people with violence if they do a performance? 'cause we get a LOT of mixed signals from some of you about this.

how what? How do they send mixed signals? Some left people threaten people they don't agree with with violence and some left people understand why that's a problem. I see that my post makes it sound like it's coming from the same left person and I don't think that's usually the case. My mistake.
