Quote
Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) said on Sunday that former President Donald Trump’s repeated efforts to challenge the results of last year's presidential elction could be a disaster for Republican candidates in next years midterms.

Hutchinson's remarks on NBC's "Meet the Press" reflect with widespread GOP view that the party is better off keepin the focus on President Biden and Democrats' spending plans than on Trump.

“Re-litigating 2020 is a recipe for disaster in 2022," Hutchinson said. "Let's talk about the future. The election is past. It's been certified. The states made decisions on the integrity of each of their elections and made improvements where need be.

Trump has been focused on battling over last year's election, and suggested his supporters will not come out to vote for Republicans next year unless they back him on the issue.

“If we don’t solve the Presidential Election Fraud of 2020 (which we have thoroughly and conclusively documented), Republicans will not be voting in ‘22 or ‘24. It is the single most important thing for Republicans to do,” Trump said in an email sent to supporters.

Hutchinson said such remarks are unhelpful.

“It's about the future. It's not about the last election. And those kind of comments are not constructive. We can win in 2022, and we're going to, but let's focus on the important issues of our supply chain, of getting over this pandemic, about freedom, and not the last election,” he said.

I doubt it matters much, if anything. It may scare away some independent voters or former Romney voters, but could also energize cultists in return. I hope Hutchinson is correct, though he may just be frustrated at the direction is party has taken. One way or the other, the guy is termed out and has nothing to lose criticising the God Emperor and his cult.

TOO LATE, The Rs already said what they're gonna do even if Biden wins if Mccarthy is Speaker on Jan 6th, 2025 they will try to decertify Biden

So, we don't need to hear anything, Scalise lied and said Trump and we won 80M to 74M and Trump didn't win PVI in 2016
We need the Trifecta simply so we can get DC Statehood enacted as quickly as possible so Rs can't win control in 2024

The Rs haven't put up Alysse Stefanic, like they said they were gonna do, to moderate their views to soccer mom's they're just keep saying they won

Biden is leading FL which means automatic Reelection especially since Whitmer is struggling but we will win WI and PA and IL and Ca and NY and FL clinches the election

FL Is still a purple state like MI🟣🟣🟣

I sure hope so.

In an ideal world this keeps Democrats engaged in wanting to vote against the Republicans at every level of government and causes Republicans not to turn out due to their patented distrust.

We don't live in an ideal world though.

Republicans aren't going to listen to Hutchinson, especially not Trumpists within the Party. Many of them consider him to be a RINO, and are expressing their enthusiasm for his likely successor, Huckabee-Sanders.

I'll believe that Republicans face consequences for licking Trump's bootheels when I see it.
