Um - Dave's info says the 22nd, but CNN and my friend have confirmed it's today - why is none of the media covering this at all?

It's not a caucus; it's a state convention. A few GOP honchos pick a portion of the delegates, and Wyoming has a caucus later, I believe.

Yes, some of Wyoming's delegates though not all (as there are more caucuses later), but the media et al. are ignoring it for good reason. Only a handful of people will be voting (various Wyoming state GOP officials), so it is irrelevant in terms of the popular voice and democratic legitimacy.

Actually, apparently there is no caucus, just another round of conventions in May (May 10) for the other counties whose GOP leadership aren't voting today.

Sort of. Because their convention (or one of them) is before February 5, Wyoming is gettings its delegate total cut in half. Normally, the late convention would be worth 16 delegates and the early one worth 12, but Wyoming is getting its total cut down to 14. I'm not sure how those 14 are being distributed.

CNN is saying that 2 are from the state convention, so I'm going with CNN.

Actually CNN says that 12 are tomorrow and only 2 will be decided by the actual vote.

Wyoming Republicans have a right to be very very pissed. I'd be calling for a coup against the chairman.

No delegates are chosen by an actual vote - those other 2 are at the state convention.  This almost happened in MI, so that's why we moved to January 15th, the Republicans couldn't afford thier own primary after the legal date, so we had  to move early like teh Dems. wanted.
