Why don't you like Charlie Rangel? He's a big proponent of eleimanting the AMT and he's the first Black chairman of the Ways and Means Committee.
I was offended by his recent remark "Mississippi gets more than their fair share back in federal money, but who the hell wants to live in Mississippi?" and then refusal to make an apology for it. Pretty much every Mississippian I know that knows about Rangel hates him because of this, no matter what their political leaning is.
