Why don't the Democrats form a "Gang of 22", to give them a working majority? It would consist of:
Susan Collins
Norm Coleman
Olympia Snowe
John Warner
Arlen Specter
Chuck Hagel
Gordon Smith
John McCain
George Voinovich
Lindsey Graham
Ben Nelson
Joe Lieberman
Bob Byrd
Mark Pryor
Mary Landreiu
Daniel Inouye
Ken Salazar
Bob Casey
Evan Bayh
Tim Johnson
Max Baucus

Do you think the Democrats would be willing to do this so they can actually do anything?

All of those Republicans, except 2 who are up for re-election next year, just voted to fillibuster a non-binding resolution on Iraq. They're not worth compromising with.
