On election day, the voters stood with the People's Pat in supporting a raise in the minimum wage. I'm sure they'd be against this nonsense as well.

In the State of the State last month, Rauner asked for an increase to the minimum wage. He differs from the Dems in that he asked for $10 over seven years and the Dems are pushing for $11 over four years. The likely result is that since Rauner wants a package of other business reforms (workers comp, unemployment insurance, tort reform), he will negotiate on the minimum wage to get that.

On Atlas, you have to have left-of-center views on everything to be a moderate.  The second you have one view that is right-of-center, you're simply a right-winger.  There is no difference between Ted Cruz and Rauner; this is just a fact, okay?!

Rauner was never moderate about unions, particularly the leaders of public-sector unions, during the campaign, which is why they spent so much in both the primary and general election against him. However, he took such a moderate stance on social issues, that the unions paid for ads for the Libertarian candidate to try to peel off conservative votes. One of his executive orders this week was to begin the reform of sentencing guidelines to reduce the prison population, and it has gotten cheers from minority groups and other organizations that tend to the left.
