Eitherway, Romney gets zero traction in half the early primary states, if the primaries work as thy normally do.  This becomes all the more apparent if the Ohio Plan goes through.

Even if the Ohio Plan goes through, most states will ignore it, hold their primaries whenever they want, and suffer only minor sanctions for it.

I think Pawlenty will win the nomination. I think he'll really pick up steam once he starts his campaign. He seems more like the Conservative version of the McCain, aka the compromise.
But McCain was well-known already and had frontrunner status for a while.

McCain didn't have front-runner status until he won Florida South Carolina New Hampshire.

And really, you could make the case that he was the frontrunner as soon as Huckabee won Iowa and McCain held the lead in NH polls.  And of course, he was the frontrunner, or at least co-frontrunner as early as 2006.  It's just that he temporarily lost that mantle during the first half of 2007.  Just like Kerry was an early frontrunner in the 2004 cycle, then lost the lead to Dean, and regained it just as the primaries were starting.

You know why Romney would be excellent President and is the best Republican candidate?

1. He's charismatic
2. He proved he can be popular in Democratic states. He was a popular governor and latest Brown victory proved Republicans can be competentive here
3. People are gonna trust his amazing economic experience, esspecially with compare to socialist Obama
4. Ufair attacks on him will assure people sympathy

Really Winfield, there's no reason to make a dual account just to write posts like this.

I don't know, I don't see why Winfield would make another account. For one thing I don't think he would insult himself this much to start misspelling words and stuff.
And considering how moderate Winfield supposedly is, I definitely don't see him calling Obama a socialist.

It was a joke.  I don't really think Winfield has a dual.

Sure it';s not Winfield. Winfield may be a hack, but "Larry T' is probably some really naive kid.

Amusing.

Just like Romney was unstoppable in 2008?  He was so unstoppable that his primary voters stayed home in the moderate states, cuz GOP voters always choose moderates.  He could win NH, I'll give you that, but it would take a miracle for him to win anything in the midwest and south.

Especially states like Michigan, Minnesota, and North Dakota.  No way could he ever win Midwestern states like those.

I think the fact that he was "popular" in a Democratic state would make GOP voters more distrustful of him, not more likeable.  I don't know how much his economic policies would benefit people since he is a proponent of free trade and outsourcing, in fact most people hate wall streeters now.  I think his religion is still an issue because voters want someone similar to them who represent their concerns.  He won Michigan because his father was from there.  He would still lose Iowa to Thune, Huckabee, Barbour, Palin, etc.  In fact, Huckabee would likely be the nominee if Fred Thompson didn't take half his voters in SC.  So, Romney has to win SC and I don't see that happening.

He could lose both Iowa and SC and still win the nomination.  In fact, that very well could have happened in 2008 if only he'd managed to win NH.  It might have gone something like:

IA: Huckabee
NH: Romney (McCain is pretty much finished if he loses here)
MI: Romney
NV: Romney
SC: Huckabee
FL: Romney
Feb. 5th: Romney wins most states outside of the South, and builds a decisive lead in delegates
