Why do they dislike Hagan so much?

Because she's a Democrat in a winnable seat.

It's the Koch Bros., they're not giving out money because they think Thom Tillis is a nicer person than Kay Hagan is.

I just don't understand, why don't they attack Begich or Landrieu?

In the latest from the flood insurance saga, Cassidy's, eh, martyrdom of sorts may help him appear 'mavericky' in the election:

Edwin Edwards still looking at CD6. I know his private life is bizarre as hell, but I really like the guy.

ICYMI, as a convicted felon, without a pardon, he can't run for state office for 15 years but can run federally.

Headline grabbing or serious?

Well since he's gotten out of jail, people's response to him has actually been really positive; I'm pretty sure thats affecting his thinking on this. To be perfectly honest, its hard to tell with him.

If he gets in, between him and Dietzel, thats probably the largest age gap of any House race!

Weekend mega-update:

ICYMI: PPP polled both these race and both are close. To be perfectly honest, I'm very worried about Mary; the poll's demographics were favorable to her yet she still ties Cassidy. Hagan is still tied as well, but there seems to be more potential for Republican self-destruction in NC. Takeaway: The damn AFP ads have been brutally effective in driving down the approvals of Hagan and Landrieu.

Hagan does another interview on MSNBC, this time with Chris Hayes. Takeaway: Hayes is much less obnoxious a host than Alex Wagner.

NC-02: Barely over a week into his campaign, Aiken announces that he's raised $100K.

NC-03: Jones really musn't be worried about his primary challenge. He's working with Marcy Kaptur to bring back Glass-Steagall; though he voted to repeal it in 1999, he calls that one of his worst votes.

NC-05: Foxx has a primary challenge. Philip Doyle is a Some Dude from Forsyth County and it sounds like he's running to Foxx's right. Yikes.

NC-06: Buried in Roll Call's Q4 fundraising report are the numbers for CD6. With the exception of VonCannon, who is wealthy and can self-fund, Berger is far ahead of other Republicans. Laura Fjeld (D) actually has more CoH than Berger, but she now has to deal with a primary.

Its been a while since I've looked at NC-07, but here are a few things:

Cantor will be fundraising next week for Rouzer. Obviously, White isn't too keen on that.

Just FWIW, as a college law student, White went on the record saying that he personally believes homosexuality should be a crime. Sadly, this won't have an adverse effect on him, much less in an R primary, as Amendent 1 passed with 70% in CD7.

Ya'll are probably sick of hearing me say this but Landrieu is the Chair of the Energy Committee. Its no doubt a boost but, electorally, there are a few facets to this. As expected, the oil industry has welcomed her with open arms and should help with fundraising. However, the move isn't risk-free there will be more pressure on her to deliver.

The Republicans are pointing to the LADP's recent actions to discount Landrieu's Energy post. The Central Committee of the LADP voted last weekend to join a lawsuit effectively suing every oil company in the state for coastal erosion. Contrary to what some may think, the LADP isn't controlled by the good ol' boys anymore; the leadership is fairly in line with the national party.

LA-06: Dan Claitor sits down to give an interview with a local legal show. Its very legislative-heavy, as the session is starting soon. Claitor discusses his expertise in budgetary, education and coastal matters.

More LA-06: Dietzel was at LSU this week. I don't know how I missed the memo.

Just saw on Twitter that Aiken's reportedly raised over $100,000 since announcing.

Businessman-physician Craig McCulloch (R) of Baker is getting into LA-06.He cited the trillion-dollar omnibus spending bill as his reason for running.

Very crowded field, a lot of the candidates from similar backgrounds. On another note, when will Landrieu and Hagan counterattack? I've read the theory on DKE that they're saving the best for last. Personally I've always been of the predefinition school.

Rhetorical question. IIRC there were APA ads supporting Landrieu last year, dunno how much the buy was.

Steyer's targeting Landrieu, who must be thrilled at getting a boost with pro-oil swingers.

As Rogue has been on fire with articles here lately, he also sent me this one on the right's stand-offish relationship with Cassidy.

Ouch. Brannon was found guilty of misleading investors.

This could potentially derail his candidacy. Some are questioning if he should even file to run.

That would be nice. He sounds crazy and not electable in NC.

Well, people who have ties to secessionists don't usually get elected in swing states.
