Here's a hypothetical for you.  If the Anglican Communion schisms over the LGBT issue, might the Episcopal Church (or any other LGBT tolerant Anglican church) join the Union of Utrecht (aka Old Catholic Church) or are there enough differences to make that unlikely despite them being in communion with each other already?

I'm certainly not an expert, but they are already in full communion with each other, and OCC bishops have taken part in the ordination of CoE bishops. It certainly seems plausible that they merge.
