I personally don't actually mind Merry Christmas. I'd object more stridently if you were considered a very bad person by wider society for not celebrating it (regardless of religion or identity), but there's no evidence for that kind of status quo really existing.

III. All elected officials of the Labor party who reside in the South will be sent coal in the mail.
VI. All cable news networks will be required to run Holiday movies from 8 PM to 10 PM on the week of December 21 - December 25. It's time to take a break from the news.

Wait lmao why haven't these been talked about. III seems discriminatory, and VI probably s with coverage in Lincoln and Fremont and might violate some censorship laws lol

Yeah VI clearly can't be done given how programming is based on media markets, not state or county. Philadelphia's media market for instance covers all of Southeast PA, most of South Jersey, and Delaware's two northern counties. St. Louis' media market covers much of Illinois, including East Saint Louis and much of the Little Egypt region. Also Cincinnati's media market extends into Northeast Kentucky. So, yeah this isn't working, unless you specifically exempt these media markets from it, and there might be more, media markets are a mess, look at this picture:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_television_markets#/media/File:United_States_Designated_Market_Areas_2013.svg
VI is a nice idea in theory. Unfortunately, given the media market issue, it works better as a nationwide thing and not a South-specific thing.

Honestly I'm against the coal mine reward too.  Coal mines are being phased out across Atlasia.  We don't want to reward corporations who profit off of destroying our planet.

It's not even going to the workers either.  How evil can you get?

We need coal mines for the coal we're about to send to Labor office holders

This is a godawful amendment and I will be instructing Santa and his reindeer to deliver extra coal to you on Christmas for suggesting it.

I'll put up the stimulus checks as a separate amendment, but I'll be voting the rest of your bill down when I put it up on the floor.

AM1: Aye
AM2: Nay
AM3: Nay - fyi, "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays" would be my preference as it pays homage to the Christmas season while also acknowledging and celebrating Hannukah, New Years and Kwanza (plus others I may be missing).
