I think they are.  Not all Sikhs wear turbans.  Only the more religious ones do.  In fact more don't than do.

More to the point, neither of them has a Christian name. They just use Anglo-sounding nicknames vaguely derived from their first names (Harbans and Jogindera).

Oh, and since people are likely confused: Martin Singh is a convert. To Sikhism. He's White.

Martineau Duhaime talks about PQ, NDP, and a cute comment about the BQ. I have no idea who he is, but I like his attitude.

Martineau is a clueless self-proclamed pundit.
Duhaime is a libertarian nut.

So, the first debate is on Sunday afternoon at the convention centre. It's first come, first serve and it's free. I'll have to try and go.

Should be fun. Unfortunately I have an exam on Monday, so I'll have to read the recaps Monday afternoon. Play a drinking game, take a shot someone mentions "taxes" or "Sherbrooke."

On another note, who gives a rat's ass about Martin Singh's "real" name? It's the same crap that Peq trolls play with Charest's name.

The true question is "who cares about Martin Singh?".

Damn it, I have a study group on Sunday. I'm gonna have to miss the debate. I hope it's archived somewhere.

cpac usually archives their stuff. Which was great, since I could watch some of the stuff I missed at the convention when I got back.

Does anyone have a link to online debate footage? I'd love to familiarize myself with Canadian politics.

I missed the debate too, but the first part is here. Still can't watch it yet because I'm studying, but holy crap, Cullen has scary eyes.

Apparently, him and Dewar were barely understandable in French.
And Chisholm was having an earplug for translation of what was said in French.

I recognize quite a few people in the audience... Anil Naidoo, Bruce Hyer, Jamie Masse, Pierre Ducasse...

I heard Brian Topp at an event tonight and I have to say that he was very impressive and I agreed with everything he said. I was surprised at how good he was in person!

Personally I'm hoping that Nash wins. Though Topp's tax proposals make him an attractive second choice for we Tories.

I guess Topp would offer great hope to the Tories - they might get an even higher percentage of the vote from people making over $250,000/year - (ie: approximately 0.01% of the population)

Actually I think its about one half of one percent of Canadians with a personal income of over 250,000 - but i will verify. Whatever it is - it is a very small number!
