Sorry for ruining your New Years Day, Nixy, but you'll have to start advocating for this one too. Tongue

On the other hand, I worry that a shorter period might constrain quality and thus worsen the revenue situation by driving even more people towards alternative shipping methods.

Aye, but I could still be convinced otherwise at this point.

If I had checked, this could have been ended on the third as it was 2-6 then and even with mine is 3-6.

Any other thoughts on this matter? This isn't quite as much of a big Fing deal, but it is important regardless, don't you know. Tongue

If it has, the updated version of it at the beginning of this thread isn't showing it.

Thats good, because there is no updated version at the beginning of the thread. Tongue

Just a few last points of inquiry, for Barnes or whoever, how was 70% determined to be an appropriate level?

Also, can we get a response to oakie's question here?

I'm not exactly convinced that the postal service isn't something that couldn't be done more efficiently by the private sector, but if we're to have a public postal service we should at least make sure it's somewhat cost efficient. I'm not particularly sure that ending Saturday post would be such a big deal that it needs an in-depth study, though.

I determined it, jerk.

I'm sorry, who the hell are you? Tongue My mind is drawing a blank. Wink

Was there a process behind that determination of 70%? Failure to answer my result in me not processing this at quite so fast a pace as might be expected (My computer isn't working again and thus getting on here is fing chore. My supposedly "new" computer has been crashed for some time. Never did like that POS, hence why I kept using my older one). Tongue

Indeed, of course it also depends on how much lattitude we give them to renegotiate.
Does anyone else have concerns about that or some other issues? Are we by chance done on this?

Vote on Final Passage of The Duke-Marokai Postal Service Act of 2013:

Aye (6): Averroës Nix, Ben, HagridOfTheDeep, jdb, JulioMadrid and Roy Barnes 2010
Nay (2): Oakvale and Spamage
Abstain (0):

Didn't Vote (2): Franzl and NC Yankee - My excuse is the red warning made me thing I had already voted, what is yours Franzl? Tongue I would have probably voted for it.

With six votes in the affirmative and time having expired, the bill has passed the Senate and is presented to the President for executive action.
