Colombia can write history today. If Petro would be elected, i think Colombia would be the country with my fav government leader worldwide, and could jump big into becoming one of my favourite countries. Go Petro!

Doesn't surprise me

in almost every election, the "people living in the" US votes for the right-wing candidate.

Even in elections where 95% of people in the world supports the left wing, the people living in the US would vote right wing. Personally i do think this is very worrying.

Thank you Hash for these very insightful comments. That's very much appreciated!

I also must say that I like the Colombian model a lot, moreso than almost any other left-wing model in Latin America and potentially even Europe. I think in terms of ideology Colombia currently fits me best.
