Great wrap-up CC, but you forgot to mention the bizarre PC leadership convention that elected Paul Davis.

Since the party's constitution states that the winner must get 50% + 1 of the valid votes cast, the organizers ruled than Davis fell half a vote short of victory. They scrambled to conduct a third ballot, and Davis won by a margin of 351 to 326.
