A great David Weigel piece about this race

Essentially O'Connor has been 100% on protecting the ACA and Social Security and bashing the Trump tax cuts. He was able to get on the air first and define himself before Balderson could. Republicans are starting to grumble a little bit like this could turn into another PA-18. Personally this feels more like AZ-08.

Funny how these races always seem to start to head that direction innit

Looking into this, apparently Balderson's primary opponent, Melanie Leneghan, has filed suit alleging that the primary was rigged in favor of Balderson through fraud in Franklin and Muskingum Counties.

Here is the case on the Ohio Supreme Court docket: http://www.supremecourt.ohio.gov/Clerk/ecms/#/caseinfo/2018/0866

That’s exactly the kind of story Balderson needs heading into next week

I’m more optimistic than I was a week ago... but I still suspect Balderson wins verrrry narrowly

Hello everyone

First time visiting this forum in a while

I’ll keep it quick

1) have zero clue what will happen tonight

2) it’s tragic that one or 2 turd posters can just derail a thread like this

Election day threads before the polls close is probably the worst content on Atlas, and that's saying something.

Yup.

Is anyone else finding their interest in these special elections waning as we approach election day in Nov?

We already know dems are over performing and this race is up for grabs again in a few months anyway

I guess it provides some entertainment tonight for us political
Junkies, but I have to admit by tomorrow morning I’ll have moved on to something else

*raises hand*

Christ what a horrible performance! And in a district where our nominee did so well not too long ago. Damn, this is not good. We're gonna have to do much better than this in November. I can't believe that we couldn't take the 12th...I mean, my god...we couldn't win Murtha's old seat.

I think we need to reevaluate our prospects after this loss...maybe the Midwest and MidAtlantic is just not responding to our message.

I know there will be some type of Atlas red wave.

But I feel it will not reach AR 2, which is my premier race.  In spite of Little Rock I believe the collar counties will pull French Hill over the finish line.  Hill is my favorite to replace Boozman in 2022.

So I feel good today.

Not Crawford or Griffin?
