I posted a semi-farewell post here not so long ago, yet I remain, more hopelessly addicted to this godforsaken website than ever.

And now after just three short years, I have passed the 15k mark. That's 5k posts per year and more hours of my life than I care to admit.

So once again, fire away. I would suggest trying original questions this time instead of the thousandth retread about why I have slightly heterodox views for a Democrat on guns and trans issues, but it's up to you as it is ask me "anything."

Not happy about the ballot referendum results, but otherwise they can't complain too much.

Despite knowing little to nothing about MacKaye, I almost definitely have to say him now. Kanye is so far gone he's fallen off the map. At one point I would make a caveat about still preferring his music, but now I can't even stomach listening to it anymore.

1. Based.

2. Can I go all the way back to Buchanan? Because if so I'll just fall back on him as my least favorite Democrat for just about everything lol.

3. Sometimes... Usually, actually, because I rarely if ever get blackout drunk. That does not, however, mean I don't regret them...

Buchanan is cheating, unless you have criticisms of his economic policy in particular rather than his complete awfulness in everything.

He's one of the founding fathers of emo. This is probably the most well known song from him though:

Well Martin van Buren's policies arguably led to the Panic of 1837, and Grover Cleveland's to the Panic of 1893. They are both contenders going strictly by economic policy.

If you limit it to only those within my lifetime... I might actually have to say Obama at this point, because I think the economy could have recovered faster if he had been more aggressive.

Taylor Swift concert. My GF is a huge fan and I'd probably be rewarded afterwards if you know what I mean. That alone makes it worth it.

Best things to do in Lexington for a day or two? I might have a work trip there in the offing.

If you’re around when Keeneland is active, go for sure. We’re known as the horse capital of the world for a reason. There is also the Horse Park if you’re not the gambling sort or if Keeneland is closed.

If horses are not your thing, downtown Lexington is cool in general anyway. I can’t say anyone can really have experienced Lexington without eating at Ramsey’s so try to go there at some point. The Bourbon Trail is of course a major attraction for alcoholics in central KY, but ironically I have yet to actually visit a single distillery myself. The Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is a fascinating place not far off with some delightful candy to offer, but if you’re only in town for a day or two you might have to triage it sadly.

As for lodging, I must insist you stay at the Campbell House if you have any say in the matter. It’s haunted as hell according to local legend. My family has stayed there just for fun before, it’s that interesting. They also have a great restaurant. Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington Green also has a nice cafe and the whole area is neat to explore…

I could go on. You asked for just a day or two, really depends on your priorities but take some advice from what I mentioned. This city is my home and I love it to death, I’ve spent most of my life here and can’t imagine just limiting myself to a day or two. But these are just a few suggestions I have from experience.

Oh and if you’re a history buff, which you probably are on this site, there’s Henry Clay’s Ashland estate and the Mary Todd Lincoln house.

WaPo also ran a good article about visiting Lexington not long ago, which echoes much of what I said and offers some other ideas I haven’t experienced myself:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2018/lifestyle/vacation-ideas/things-to-do-in-lexington/

It you come, I hope you enjoy your stay!

1. If 2010-14 Oregon had come to Kentucky would you go see that game even if it meant watching a massive blowout loss for your team

2. Which popular series is better : Star Wars or Harry Potter

3. Which economic policy of Reagan do you approve of

1. I bleed blue. Yes I would do it, despite the pain.

Also we would win anyway!

2. Star Wars. That was always my true love as a kid of all the nerd series. These days I prefer Lord of the Rings to either, but as a kid it was all Star Wars. It's been absolutely killed and buried, twice. First by George Lucas with the prequels (I grew up on the unmolested trilogy on VHS). Then after it died, Disney dug up its corpse and killed it again! But nonetheless, those three movies are pure magic to the child inside me and nothing can ever take that away. I loved Harry Potter as a kid too, but it was never at the same level as Star Wars.

3. Does amnesty for immigrants count as an economic policy? If so that was based.

I hope so. My gut tells me yes, my brain says it's a toss-up. My gut was more right this year, for what it's worth!

What’s your favorite place in rural Kentucky to visit?

Harlan County, where my family is from. Black Mountain is also the tallest peak in Kentucky, towering over the company town of Lynch where my grandfather worked.

I would argue it does given the significant economic impact. Otherwise, I struggle to answer the question...
