What exactly is the purpose of this? Coca Cola doesn’t contain cocaine anymore for a reason, this seems like imprudent policy.

A lot of people would pay a lot of money for coke-infused coke. This bill is designed to provide extra revenue for the government.

This bill is a waste of government resources.

I think the Atlasian people are more than capable of creating their own cocaine-infused soft drinks if the demand for such a beverage is there. And I suspect if that demand was widespread we’d have seen this show up at some point in the recent past.

Do we have good numbers on how much resources would have to be committed to analysis, R&D, production, and distribution of these soft drinks if the government took it upon itself to do this?

As a disgruntled Alabama fan with high blood pressure and CHF, I urge my fellow members to vote this down.

No objection to the motion, but I would like an answer to my question.

I'd like to sponsor this bill since the sponsor has left the House.

Ishan is recognized as sponsor.

And considering that MB's motion is no longer in effect, I motion for a final vote. Not sure that anyone has much else to say about this.

(There will be 24 hours to object to the motion.)

I believe that the spirit of this bill is excellent, but that it is far too moderate to truly represent the importance of cocaine to the average Atlasian. I propose the following amendments to this bill:

Quote

Edit Section 2, subsection b to:

b. This drink is to contain an amount of cocaine.

Edit Section 2, subsection c to:

c. No more than ten thousand (10,000) milligrams of cocaine per two-liter bottle shall be permitted.

Add subsection e to Section 2:

e. Cocaine products shall be distributed in all public establishments which sell, serve, or otherwise provision beverages.

Thanks for showing interest in your federal government! Unfortunately, per congressional rules, amendments can't be accepted once a final vote is open. But you can still submit a bill based around your idea in the Public Legislation submission thread on the AFE board.
