I'm very glad that Bushie's god refuses to "force himself" on me.

Funny to see how a religion can be hijacked by a morbidly obese loving porno with parent's money and unemployed. Hijacking a religion allows him to think he's a good person because he believes in Jesus hahaha.

Oh, okay.  So Jesus' sacrifice is strong enough to save all those who believe, but not strong enough to save those who don't believe as well?

Why am I wasting my time in this thread?

It is strong enough to save everyone, but each individual has to make the choice to accept His sacrifice or not.  That's where free will comes in.  The Holy Spirit calls them, and its up to the individual to heed the Spirit's call.  God will not force Himself on anyone who doesn't want Him.  That wouldn't be love.

And if they don't, God will throw them in hell for all eternity to prove His love?

And if they don't, God will throw them in hell for all eternity to prove His love?

God is also a just God.  His standards are holy and perfect and since we all fall short (Romans 3:23) and our sins are violations of God's commandments, our sins deserve the harshest hell there is, even the little white lies (Romans 6:23a).  But, with the blood of Jesus and his gift those who believe are allowed into heaven (Romans 6:23b, 5:Cool.  Because He is also a just God, those who do not accept the payment made on their behalf still have to pay the penalty for violating God's commandments and thus are sadly tossed in hell.  Make no mistake, no one deserves heaven, but God's gift is called grace and by His grace we are allowed in.   The scandal of Christianity is not why good people are sent to hell, but why bad people are allowed into heaven.  It's because of that grace and that free gift that I do good works (or at least try).  Works is not salvation itself, but works is the fruit that results from salvation and is the proof that one has been saved.  James 2:14-26, with a focus on v 17 says that faith without works is dead.  So, while salvation is not determined by your works, it is made evident by your works.  It's kind of hard to explain, because we're trying to comprehend an infinite God with our puny, finite brains.

I have not kept the works near like I should, but Christ's blood covers me and by His grace and His leadership I am changing day by day, little by little to become more like Himself.

I'm very glad that Bushie's god refuses to "force himself" on me.

But know that He wants to love on you every day.  From the moment He saw you as a child, He has been aching to love on you.  It's not creepy.  It's His way and it's real.  Though He finds you less appealing now that you are older and has revoked your automatic pass to heaven, He still appreciates you enough to love on you provided you worship Him constantly and don't ask questions when He closes His eyes to think of "something else" while He loves on you.

Thank you for exposing me to your disgusting, fruitless, innately depraved "spirituality."  I think I'll stick with my own.

I always knew there was a reason for why I was avoiding this thread but I guess I'm finally figuring out what that is.

Bushie elucidated well the single most offensive thing I find in Christianity, or at least certain iterations of it (maybe offensive is not the best word, but it will do for now) - that it is only through faith, and faith alone, in Jesus, that one gets into heaven, and it is irrelevant what one does on this Earth. Damn Luther for letting that one out of the Pandora's Box. If that is the deal, I would much prefer bunking next to Mark Twain in hell.

Catholics have their own unique way of making heaven sound like a dreadful place.  A devout Catholic friend of mine actually shared this with me unironically in hopes it would inspire my faith:

Needless to say, I'm now planning on asking St. Peter for a ticket down south instead.

I just got outside and walked with JJ for 20 minutes.  She did really well on the walk, and furthermore, I got 20 minutes worth of exercise.  Not much, but a start.  I burned a little over 100 calories doing so.  That 100 calories brings me down from 2,000 to 1,900 calories consumed on the day.  My goal is 2,140.  Now, to do this 2-3 more times this week.  We have another Pet Smart training session with her tomorrow evening, then I have church Wednesday, but I'll be able to get out there Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Which reminds me, I need to download the Endomondo app to my iPhone.  I had it on my Android, but I replaced it with the iPhone back on May 3.  I want to send the walk results to Inks for future walks so he can vouch for them.  If anybody else wants to see what I'm doing both on Endomondo and myfitnesspal, let me know your username.

I can't remember my Endomondo username, but my mfp is jabrown2013.

Try more like 50 calories Bushie (20/60 x 150 = 50).  One does not get away for long around here with throwing errant facts up in the air hoping they stick to something. No, Bushie, you didn't walk more than 2 miles per hour in speed either, unless you were walking briskly. Presumably you are not so foolish as to claim that you walked briskly (with 3 miles per hour being really brisk). Oh, I see now that at your weight walking briskly actually burns less calories (unless vigorously jogging) than walking at a more deliberate pace. Odd that.

What did you eat today, Bushie?

I had my usual cinnamon toast for breakfast, two turkey sandwiches for lunch, and 4 homemade soft tacos for supper.  According to myfitnesspal, two taco bell beef soft taco with toppings are 350 calories.  So, 4 would be 700 calories.  I used that scale, even though homemade is usually a little healthier than fast food.  So, all three meals brought me to a total of 1,975, but the walking brought me down to 1,850 calories not burned.

Bushie, are you a Calvinist or do you believe in free will? They are very much mutually exclusive.

I was taking my calculations from the myfitnesspal app which 2.5 mph walking for 20 minutes = 118 calories.

Throw your app in the trash Bushie. It's giving you false readings. The only way I could fathom that the chart is off by more than half vis a vis your app, with the app actually being semi accurate is if (i) you are so out of shape that even perambulating deliberately gets your heart rate up to 150 beats per minute with you huffing and puffing, and (ii) more heart beats per minute means more calories burned (not sure about that). Anyway, if that is all true, it means that this must have been about the first time you walked anywhere other than from your car to the interior of a MacDonalds in months.

To be honest, it is the first time I've walked long distances in several months and, yes, my heart rate was up.  118 may be high, but I could probably see 75 calories.  Whatever, whether it's 50, 75, or 118, it is a start and that's all that matters as long as I keep it up.
