HP, though he was obviously at least trying in good faith unlike many of his present heirs.

When was he a Steeler?  I know he was a Charger and a Bill, but when did he play for Pittsburgh?

Option H: I Disagree.

I can't vote "Freedom Fighter" because I believe his overall political ideology can't stand on it's own due to his trivialization of balanced budgets in favor of economic growth.  I believe that most consistent fiscal cons (which I hesitate to use for Kemps) would view Balanced Budgets as an end goal due to the implications of a deficit bound society as an indication of an overly large government (whether due to social welfare programs, a large military budget, overcompensated pension plans, etc. etc. etc., I'll leave up to you).  That, and I disagree with his overall worldview, so effectively I can't accurately label him a "Freedom Fighter".

I can't vote "Horrible Person" because I've recently come to the conclusion that to do so would mean that I view the person of a damnable quality.  While I disagree with Jack Kemp's worldview I find it an over reaction to call him "horrible", for that would imply that I find him or at least some of his personal qualities to be worth damnation or hatred.  Face it, when you call somebody a "Horrible Person" such a label means you more than disagree with them on political policy.  It means that as a person you heavily dislike them.  As a person you find them excessively bad enough to label them "Horrible".  If it were just politics the more accurate description would've been "Horrible Politician" and not the overall general "Horrible Person".  Jack Kemp, for his faults in policy, seemed to be an overall good man outside of his political views.  Therefore, I strongly refuse to use the term "Horrible Person" to describe him.  After all, he never became a US President.

With all of this said, the only real accurate thing I can say about Jack Kemp is that I disagree with his political views.

In 1957, the Steelers drafted Kemp to play backup to Earl Morrall. However, Buddy Parker never cared much for rookies and wanted to get his old security blanket Bobby Layne from Detroit, so Kemp was dumped off.

Pure Freedom Fighter, a man who even Democrats could probably respect. I wish there were more like him in the modern Republican Party.

The only difference in voting as a blue collar Democrat and a blue collar Republican is the Union issue ...
