It seems to me like a lot of the homophobia seems to stem from being a product of the extremely homophobic society of Jamaica. Rastas don't seem more homophobic than Jamaican Christians, for example. I doubt most white/American Rastas are.

I had been under the impression that the reverse is true.

There aren't really enough Rastafarians even in Jamaica for that to be the case.
