Legislative elections to both houses will be held on November 30 in Romania.

The results of last election in the lower house
PSD/Humanist Party 36.8% 132 seats (113 PSD, 19 PUR)
Justice and Truth Alliance (PD and PNL) 31.5% 112 seats (64 PNL, 48 PD)
Greater Romania Party 13.0% 48 seats
UDMR 6.2% 22 seats
Ethnic minorities 16 seats (1 seat each for Roma, German, Armenian, Italians, Bulgarian, Greek, Jews, Lipovenian, Croatians, Albanians, Turco-Islamic Tatars, Ukrainians, Slavonic Macedonians, Serbs, Ruthenians, Turks, Poles, Czech-Slovaks)

In the Senate:
PSD/Humanist Party 37.2% 57 seats
Justice and Truth Alliance (PD and PNL) 31.8% 49 seats
Greater Romania Party 13.6% 21 seats
UDMR 6.1% 10 seats

Current polling (Lower house/Senate)
PSD-PC 32%/32.2%
PDL (PD in 2004) 31.1%/32.1%
PNL 21.3%/20.8%
UDMR 6.3%/5.9%
Greater Romania Party 4.3%/4.2%
PNG 3.2%/3.9%
Others 0.8%/1%
Ethnic minority 0.5%

15.7% will split their ticket House/Senate.

More data here, including regional and age breakdowns.

The PC is the Conservative Party, a ultra-conservative kooky party allied with the Social Democrats (for some weird reason).

Wikipedia has a constituency map, so I assume they switched to MMP as some sources tell me. Other places tell me they've switched to a French two-round system in constituencies. Anybody know the new system, if they did switch?

None of them. Romanian parties are awfully corrupt. I support the UDMR personally, and I hope the PSD loses. Those guys are the most corrupt.

Not bad, the PSD-PC took a bit of a hit, and both the PDL and the PNL gained. Also good is the PRM being gone. Good riddance.

UDMR will join any coalition as they have done in the past, whether a PSD one or a PNL/PD-L one.

The UDMR actually won a overseas constituency seat (Africa and the Mideast). The UDMR is made of win.

Theodor Stolojan was appointed Prime Minister by Basescu. He will try to form a PDL-PSD coalition.

Such a coalition could easily win both houses, were they have a huge majority. If the UDMR (as they probably will) joins, then it'd be even larger.
