Neither.  Both should receive the same attention -- they're all sentient beings, to an extent.

Not sure what you mean by 'to an extent', and to what extent you're being sardonic, but otherwise, this.

False dichotomy - these two groups, as well as the 'middle class', have the same enemy - the owners.

They are largely overlapping groups. Like it or not, illegals are Americans. They live here. Perhaps you meant to say poor citizens.

I'd say the illegals that don't plan on returning to Mexico or wherever are Americans.

If you are a foreigner who comes here with the intention of not leaving, I think you're an American the second you step foot on American soil.

But I still chose poor Americans for this poll... though I believe the basic needs of everybody should be taken care of... food, water, and access to shelter.

I think the opt out is supposed to be moving, but that's not feasible for everybody...

I argue that illegal immigrants need to have their needs put first. After all, they worked very hard to get here so we should reward that hard work. Why would anyone ever work hard if there is no reward?

Illegal immigrants are probably, on average, in more immediate need than your standard poor American, so them.
