Can anyone sponsor this amendment? I took it from Japan's pacifist constitution.

The Armed Forces of Atlasia shall not be mobilised unless necessary to preserve Atlasia's territory or participate in peacekeeping missions.

NO MORE WAR! DISARM NOW!

Well number one it would not allow us to adiquitly defend ourselves or to be involved in peacekeeping operations. As for going into the military, nobody currently in the Fantasy elections is in the military. You cannot get into the Atlasian military since this is a fake country. As for people being in the US military thats a different story but that shouldn't have any bearing on Atlasia.

I'm curious regarding why you say "DISARM NOW!" in light of this proposal, given that we wouldn't have any armed forces to mobilize at all if we did that.

What is a peacekeeping mission?  What do you mean by "preserving Atlasia's territory"?  The last two sentences are idiotic.

This may be the worst amendment in the history of Atlasia, and that's saying something.

Btw, this sounds like something that would come out of Charles Lindbergh's mouth, not Franklin Roosevelt's, fwiw.  I would change your name accordingly.

Well, if you are willing to put a big sign on your front lawn that says:

"Attention Criminals!  This house is pacifist, we will not resist if you attack us!"

maybe one of the Senators will consider it.

Not considering how damaging it would be to ourselves, such an amendment would be a slap in the face of peoples all over the world who depend on Atlasia to protect them from harm.

This is exactly why we should not give Anti-War Liberals voting rights!

all people should vote, whether we disagree or not.

I hate that the far-right Family First party won a seat from my state in the senate-and even more so, that One Nation once had two figure support in other states-but that doesnt mean they shouldn't vote.

I love how this proposed amendment would allow us to defend terrority and insert ourselves in any number of "peacekeeping missions" that have nothing to do with our national security, but would not allow us to use military force to protect the lives of our citizens, protect allies, or even respond to attacks on our soil (unless the motive of our attackers was to take some of our territory).

This amendment has nothing to do with a person's views on defense and war.  It's just poorly written.

How about this: ...in response to hostile attacks by enemy powers. This justifies Afghanistan 2001, WW2 but not Iraq 2003 or Vietnam.
