You have to give VA and especially national Democrats credit here, though: They learned from their mistakes in GA-06 and effectively downplayed expectations for a race they were always going to win. Since everyone is treating this as a Tossup now, even a narrow Northam victory will be seen as a big victory for Democrats and boost their morale. This ridiculous hype probably also motivated their base to turn out in an off-year election and helped Northam even more in the end. Too bad most Republicans (including almost all of them on this forum) fell for that old trick, lol.
