Thankfully, 75% of Berkeley is in now though.

ECB is now down 45.8-53.7 with a vote dump from Berkley. Down 39-60.3 there.

With close to half the district it and Colbert consistently underperforming, without any clear spoiler effect for either candidate, I feel comfortable calling this one for Mark Sanford. A remarkable comeback if the results stand firm, and a personal disappointment for me. Tongue

I really don't see Colbert-Busch pulling this out.

Wasserman said he isn't seeing a path to victory for her either.

What is it that allowed Sanford to come back so hard so fast?

Wasserman also calls it, saying Berkeley means the gap is too wide.

My reaction: Pubs better find some decent challengers for Sanford next year. If not, he better keep his head down and not make any sort of news.

Well, the good news is, the First almost certainly won't have to endure Sanford for long. He's perfect primary territory.

What is it that allowed Sanford to come back so hard so fast?

They nationalized the race and painted Colbert-Busch as too liberal.

A shame for the citizens of SC-1. They deserved an honest representative.

Charleston just went to Sanford. It's over.

Colbert-Busch won the absentee vote in Charleston County, but is losing an overwhelming majority of the election day precincts.

This is South Carolina. A lying, cheating dog is still better than a Democrat. And now the GOP has this culture of salvation and redemption, where any disgraced Republican can claim he has asked God for forgiveness and then everyone else forgives him too.

This just proves that most Republicans are all talk about family values and it will be much harder to take them seriously with Sanford in congress. So it's their loss in the end.

SC1 says less than nothing about 2014 but it says a lot about sex scandals, the American electorate and why Congress blows so much.

SC reaps what it sows.  Enjoy having that embarrassment in Congress until the 2014 primary.
