The intent is honorable, but I have the impression that with this, we are strengthening the conception of minority, when our objective should be reduce the difference.

GAworth, please explain the bill. I hope that my doubts will be cleared. Smiley

Thank you Archduke for allowing this bill to the floor and for your concerns, which I will try to address. The Midwest needs to be a more self-sufficient region, and that in my opinion means that in my opinion needs to be extended to the contracts we as a government tender. Sending Midwest tax dollars to companies from outside the Midwest does not make sense. We should try to always support our regions businesses first, helping to reduce unemployment and stimulate entrepreneurs. Now for the second, and most likely, more controversial part of the bill.

I agree with the Archduke that reducing the differences between races, groups, etc. should be our goal. However, we as a country have a long history of institutionalized discrimination, this also extends to the economic realm, where many of the people near the bottom of society do come from some of these groups. To reduce differences we need everyone on the same playing field, that currently does not exist.
I look forward to hearing all input on this bill.

Well?

I don't like very much the bill, but I can't present an amendment because my amendment should remove the principal content of the bill.

Yes

Well, what do you think? Someone has an amendment? Or we can go with a final vote?

Well that is fair.

I think a final vote is fine. RR1997, any thoughts?
