Normally, I would agree with those who say that this is primarily a local decision and that this should not be interfered in any at federal level.

However...

In this particular case, there seems to be such an unwarranted finding of fact in this case, based solely on the hearsay testimony of her husband without any written proof...

that (especially since someone's life is in danger) I think it is the necessity of the federal government to act and take away the power to rule over this decision from this legally inept judge.
