Can somebody tell me why Raimondo is unpopular in RI? I never hear about her.
Same reason why Dan Malloy is unpopular. The economy in Rhode island and Connecticut has been stagnant since the 90s.
The construction industry that boomed in the 80s because of the good economy at the time came crashing down because of rising interest rates in the 90s that popped the construction bubble of the 80s. Also lots of manufacturing left for overseas.
Then in both states the economy recovered through the service sector only to go into recession in early 2000's and late 2000's.
These two states will likely elect pro-tax cut republicans that have governed the two states during most of the 90s and 00's.
