If we don't want Mock Parliament to be rude to us, we really shouldn't do this kind of stuff ourselves.

Just to clarify, I am unaware of any effort by the Senate to destabilize Mock Parliament. Unfortunately, the contention surrounding Bore's executive order seems to have fueled further ill-will between the two games. I can't speak for my colleagues, but as for myself, I objected to the order recognizing South America as a matter of Constitutional principle, not out of animosity towards our sister game. I would fully support efforts to recognize South America once this matter has been settled, and suspect many of my colleagues would as well.

I am heartened to hear that, and hope you are right.

I had perceived the Senate's attempt to strip Bore's recognition of diplomatic relations with Mock Parliament as a slight motivated by anger. Perhaps I am wrong, but I doubt if he had recognized any other country, the outrage has copped would not occur. I am merely concerned by an increasingly disturbing mindset against the game. You have one Senator (and current presidential candidate) who has angrily denounced our attempts to have a full forum under fantasy elections, making the emotional and silly case that it would "confuse" people. You also have the Governor of one of this game's regions attacking people who left for mock parliament as killing this game and sophomoric-ally mocking the reasonable name we chose for ourselves. We have come harboring nothing but peaceful intentions and good will, but have been turned away by so many people in this game.

I think it goes both ways. There are unfortunately a small number of Atlasians who continue to hold a grudge against Mock Parliament; these sentiments of mistrust have been encouraged by statements from high-profile South Americans attacking Atlasia as a "socialist wasteland" populated by "pigheaded isolationists." I won't claim that Atlasia is innocent in this regard - we have our share of hot-heads, too. In the midst of the controversy, the president issued an executive order unilaterally recognizing South America, making it harder to distinguish between those who object to recognizing South America on principle and those who feel recognition should have been handled differently.

I don't think it accurate to compare recognizing South America with past diplomatic dealings in Atlasia, however. Establishing diplomatic ties with Mock Parliament - a separate game with its own laws, leaders, and agenda - is fundamentally different from the SoEA having "peace talks" with imaginary foreign leaders. Suffice to say, Mock Parliament's leaders think and act on their own, and thus it takes a little more effort to synchronize our universes than it does in what we might call "traditional" Atlasian diplomacy. I and others believe that we can make it work, but it's a big decision that should be carefully considered by all the parties involved, not unilaterally decreed by one man.

I personally hope Mock Parliament succeeds and lasts a long time. I have long been a proponent of having multiple nations that interacted and carried on meaningful foreign relations. This is a great opportunity for that to happen. Let's all make the most of it.

Glorious news!!! I am pleased to hear this, Senator, although I still cannot fathom why you are "boycotting" the speech by our Speaker of Parliament, a true friend of Atlasia. Do not believe the misinformation being propagated by a small, foaming at the mouth far-right minority in this game!

I suppose Kalwejt and myself are part of this "far-right minority"? This story gets loopier by the minute.

Nevertheless, I will join my fellow Senator in wishing South America all the best, despite the actions of some of its citizens.

No, you are not. Those who I am referring to know perfectly well who they are!

Who then? Griffin? Windjammer? Both have been frequent targets of the current hysteria, and yet neither could be defined as "far right" by any stretch of the imagination. Then again, I am apparently a "fascist," so I don't suppose these labels mean much of anything.

If you really want to improve relations between Atlasia and South America, perhaps you could stop belittling everyone who disagrees with you. At this point, the combative attitude you and others have taken in recent weeks is the main reason I haven't moved to establish formal ties with Mock Parliament.
