I noticed that some of this was going on in the "Pick 'em" thread so I figured it would be nice to have a centralized place.

A few notes from my perspective:

- Obviously the Colts are in a lot of trouble. I'm not sure Collins plays all the games that Peyton doesn't start. I thought maybe they would still compete but if their morale remains this low they're looking at a top 10 pick.
- What happened to the Falcons?
- The Chiefs have predictably fallen back to Earth.
- It's clear to me that Arian Foster's rushing success is due more so to the system. Look at Ward and Tate's stats today.
- McNabb wasn't great today but I think that he's going to have a great year with AP.
- Redskins: sleeper team?
- If those Rams injuries are serious, they're in trouble.
- Newton looked good in his debut but I feel like I could play well against that Arizona defense.
- The Steelers seem to have the famous Super Bowl loser curse.

This whole spin that the Jets need to win because of 9/11 is physically sickening.

The Cowboys are looking to prove their worthlessness once again it seems.

One game does not a season make.  However, they were dominated on both sides at the line of scrimmage today, and their historic turnover ratio success, well, came back to bite them today.  Also remember that the Ravens have played this game with us before - looking like worldbeaters early in the season, and then missing the playoffs.  We'll see.

Sure but to go from getting the silver medal to getting blown out by a division rival that you usually beat is quite telling.

I was strongly considering naming this thread "Week 1 Overreactions" but I decided to make it more general.

On the SNF game, I was beginning to like what I saw of Romo and then he reverted back to old form - doing too much and blowing the game, reminding me of his idol Lord Favre.

Is this going to be another season where the Jets win a boatload of games that they shouldn't because the other team screws up more than they do? I certainly hope so. Sure, the Jets can play when it counts - I know that first hand - but their past three regular seasons have pretty much had everything go their way, no matter how they played.

Brady throws over 500 yards, career and MNF high.

I have him as my QB in fantasy . . . and I have a bye.

A lot of interesting things to watch for today.

- BUF/OAK should be an interesting game.
- Can Chicago continue the magic against NO?
- How does Cam perform against GB's defense?
- Will the Colts bounce back versus the Bengals?

Feel free to use this thread for a running commentary as you watch.

SCam Newton looking pretty decent again.

I thought Bradford was gonna bust last year; maybe I'm wrong on this one too . . .

If Cam keeps this up he will be a diamond in the rough.

I don't think you can be called "a diamond in the rough" if you're a number one overall pick.

The rough being Carolina, the diamond being Cam.

Carolina actually has some good pieces though. Solid RBs, a great WR, a solid OT in Gross, Olsen, good players all along the D. It's just a matter of them coming together.

If they had someone decent at QB last year they would have won a few more games and probably wouldn't have been the worst team in the league.

Kafka has a great deal of potential. Call me bold but I wouldn't be surprised if he's the only QB currently on the Philly roster that is still there in a few years.

Belichick totally sabotaged his team.  CBS picked up a glance of Brady glaring at him after the tirade

No, the defense sabotaged the team. Although the interceptions certainly didn't help...

I'm not really sure we know the whole story yet as to what happened with that timeout.

It's been a pretty good day so far for professional football.  The Bills finally got the monkey off their back and beat the arrogant, prideful Patriots.

How dare a professional sports team be arrogant and have pride.

As I've said before, it's a rich statement coming from a Cowboys fan.

ugh These injuries are really piling up for my guys in NE: Bodden, Haynesworth, Dowling, Hernandez, and Vollmer definitely out.

Vollmer isn't a huge loss since Nate Solder has played well in RT. Hernandez gives the passing game a different dimension and is probably the best receiver (despite being a TE) on the team so that hurts but there are tons of other weapons. I was hoping Fat Albert would be able to play this week to help stop McFadden but I'd rather have him healthy for next week at home against NYJ.

Bodden and Dowling out really hurts. The secondary needs all the help it can get. Prepare to see Jason Campbell look like an all-pro tomorrow.

Does anyone still think that Romo is a franchise quality QB? I really think it's time for Dallas to start considering moving on. Kid can't play when it counts.

Not that I really care though.

Looks like Patriots need to play Vince Wilfork at safety. 2 picks this year.

Jets are getting some pretty terrible calls. I'd feel kinda bad if it was almost anyone but the loudmouth Jets.

I know this is not about the game, but EW weekly and my Fox channel reported this:

The rumor for the Super bowl halftime show is going around, and they are saying Maddona is the favorite. What do you all think?

Does anyone really care about the halftime show?

Al Davis has died. I'll reserve comment for a later date.
