I would say it had a negative effect, due to the fact that it threw into conflict everything that the population had been taught for 25 years; namely, that Stalin was perfect.  After that, people were more likely to question the government.

I did not say that he was part of the religious right, of course he was not. Clinton ruined the leadership of the religious right. That is what I said.
