Yeah, Hillary was already dubbed the nominee years ago and Obama was about as suddenly popular as a fresh face could get. At least 90% of the country had no idea Warner even exists, so he couldn't compete with that name recognition and branded appeal of the other two even if he is a stronger candidate.

Has there ever been a ticket with two candidates from the same state? Other than that, it does seem unbeatable.  Southern Democrats usually run well at the national level.

I had no idea Webb was 62 though.  He looks 10-20 years younger.

Oh I forgot about the Bush/Cheney issue.  Yeah, they could easily get around it, though it'd be more obvious since their Virginian status is more well known than Cheney's Texan status was.
