Delaney wins, by keep 2016 map and adding PA, WI, and MI.

John Delaney (D-MD)/Jeb Bush (D-FL)
Donald Trump (R-NY)/Mike Pence (R-IN)

All-powerful John Delaney convinces Jeb! to deflect to the Democrats and be his VP. Together, they are unstoppable.

President Donald J. Trump (R-NY) / Michael R. Pence (R-IN) - 269 EVs, (48.3%)
Congressman John Delaney (D-MD) / Gov. John Hickenlooper (D-CO) - 269 EVs (49.7%)

Delaney elected President by Democratic controlled House and Pence re-elected Vice President by Senate.

This would be similar to the Christie defense that I saw some make in 2015, in that a Christie strong enough to win the nomination would make a powerful contender for the White House. Likewise, a Delaney strong enough to beat all these other more likely Democratic candidates means he has something big going for him and puts him in decent shape for the general.

2016 Map + NC, PA, WI, MI and maybe Georgia

Delaney can really appeal to former republican voters, my republican father who could not vote for either trump or Clinton voted for Delaney, he could accelerate the suburban trends especially.

The landslide would be so huge they would have to create more electoral votes just for him

If he's charismatic enough to win the nomination, he would be perfect for the Romney-Clinton and Romney-Johnson voter strategy.  I think he would win fairly easily if he made it that far (which he won't).

Bad news on that front lad.  I can confirm from very reliable sources (youtube) that John Delaney has the personality of a slowly cooked paddy.  The only person who finds him exciting is his wife.

Trump forfeits the day before the election, because poll numbers show him losing in every state except that really Republican Nebraska district. On the same day, the Libertarian candidate moves to Somalia, the Green moves to Bhutan, and the Constitutionalist hangs himself to be with the founding fathers in heaven, so Delaney/Johnson (talking about The Rock) run unopposed. They win 538-0 in the EC, winning 99.99999% of the popular vote. The remaining 0.00001% are deported to Guantanamo the following January.
