http://www.cnbc.com/2016/09/12/trump-says-fed-chief-yellen-should-be-ashamed.html

In an interview this morning on CNBC, Donald Trump showed that he knows absolutely nothing about how the Fed works or how the stock market is doing.

He accused Janet Yellen of being political by keeping interest rates low, so that Obama looks good. He failed to realize that the Federal Reserve operates independently of the White House.

He also claimed the Fed has created a "false stock market", saying that he doesn't even invest in stocks.

Oh, and he casually threw in a "Pocahontas" referring to Elizabeth Warren again. It's sad how he keeps getting away with this bullsh**t.

But he would probably be the most entertaining President we've had, and I don't necessarily mean that in a good way.

It's obvious to the majority of the population that Trump is in WAY over his head trying to be President.

Which makes a great case for requiring people who want to run for President to KNOW something about politics and how the govt is run before they can throw their hats in the ring. Which would preclude surgeons and TV personalities and people of that nature.

This isn't a game.

He would create a financial disaster of our economy.
Just complete ignorance .... and people say he is smart about "business" ? (stock market/the Fed/interest rates).
I don't see it. Do you ?

Is anybody really shocked that Trump doesn't know basic policy? It's what won him the primaries (along with some xenophobia).

But they like the fact that's he's not PC.

That's his big draw.

I don't see that as any type of positive.

He's going to get murdered in the debates.

He has suddenly conducted himself "sounding" more presidential because he reads pre-written literature from a teleprompter. He even does NOT do that correctly, as he literally stares straight into one teleprompter (instead of glancing, and moving his head left and right using both teleprompters), as if he was a child at school learning to read the ABC's from the chalkboard.

Without this type of help at the debates, I think you are correct ... He is going to get murdered.
He has no control over the topics, and he cant talk-over Hillary when she is speaking.
I hope he ends up sounding like the bumbling idiot that he is.

What if he just does talk over her though?
Trump can break all the rules of the debate... it won't matter.  Frustratingly, people don't care.  What's Hillary going to do, whine to the moderator?  Sure beats getting slaughtered on policy.

Besides we already know how Trump will survive the debate.  Question about some policy, state that some facet of the current government's policy in that area is destroying the country, rant about problems for ninety seconds, then promise to fix it, possibly with a simple three-world solution.  Take the oil.  Build the wall.  What's going on.  Rinse and repeat.

I believe I have seen moderators immediately speak-up and stop the perpetrator from talking, and remind the individual of the rules.
Hillary does not need to ask the moderator to intervene. The moderator does this automatically and immediately. And if I was the moderator, I would speak very loud about it, over powering the voice (sound) of what trump is trying to say, so that his words are lost or muddled. Scream if you must.

Edit to add : Don't they turn off the mic of the candidate who is not currently speaking ? So in other words, their voice would be difficult to hear anyway (if it is not your turn). Then they turn on your mic when it is your turn to speak ? Cant remember.

Nobody bothered to step in when it happened on several occasions in the GE debates in 2012.  Anytime this happens I have flashbacks of Romney going "Anderson, ANDERSON, ANDERSON" while Perry plowed through him.

Well, if that's the case, then if I were Hillary, I would speak-up and shout-over trump everytime he tried to intervene. She should just keep shouting "Excuse me, excuse me !" over and over again, until trump shut his ignorant mouth. And she should make sure she says it loudly and immediately.
She can then demand that she be allotted additional time, which I believe the moderators have done in the past.

And if he does it 3 or 4 times during the night, she should add after shouting and shutting-him-down, "Excuse me ... can you conduct yourself more professionally during the debate. You know the rules, Mr trump, and it is not your turn to speak."
If he continues, add more insults like "your conduct is childish, can you control yourself please."
Make him sound like the fool and man-child that he is, to the millions of voters who are watching.

Kindred spirits. Many voters are happy to see a candidate who agrees that their ignorance is as good as someone else's knowledge.

What will happen to the stock market if Trump pulls out a surprising victory, is not pleasant to contemplate. His economic prescriptions, to the extent he has any at all that are more than wishful thinking, would be toxic to the economy.

The Federal Reserve is independent of the Presidency in the same way that the Supreme Court is. Presidents pick people to serve in these roles because they believe they will help advance favoured policies/interests. Yellen is a Democrat and a former Clinton advisor, so it's hardly outlandish to think she might wish to... assist, Obama (and by extension Hillary).

Trump knows enough about the stock market, however, to have structured one of his companies that would enable him to keep his casinos' revenues while passing on the expenses to his shareholders. Or, as he said, the company went bankrupt, but he did "very well for himself".

Or maybe low interest rates are appropriate post-recession because wage growth has been stagnant. Of course, after today's report there will be increased pressure on Yellen to raise the rates, but interest rates are a two-sided coin -- low rates don't necessarily help Obama and the Democrats, because even though it's cheaper to borrow, it's less advantageous to save.
