Would it please the senator from Oregon if I were to change the semantics to "activate" or "inforce" the NPR, rather than create it?

Hah...you know, Friz actually voted opposite Ebowed once!  I think it was on one of my amendments, Friz was the only vote opposing it, and there was little rationale behind voting against it.

Not that Friz has ever explained or debated a vote here in the Senate...

Why would Ebowed want all of his copy votes with Friz to be recorded? Tongue Wink

Aye.

---

I'd like to amend the bill, so that "National Public Radio" becomes "Radio Atlasia."

Somebody provide me with a good reason he was appointed, and I'll call off my campaign.

There was no good reason why Friz was appointed. He should be voted out but he won't.

Ebowed, this is specifically to create a modern history of Atlasia.

Welcome to the Atlas Wiki.

NPR is funded and exists according to Atlasian law.  Unless we plan on actually starting a radio show and posting mp3s to record modern historical events and news, what's the point of this bill?

No one thinks through these things anymore.

Have you even been listening? Youre becoming even more incompetent than Friz these days.

This will not create an actual radio. Its a thread where a simple log of events is taken. The Wiki is never updated because it takes too long to get that detailed. Keeping easy tabs in a thread will allow for simple recollection of happenings, and preserve that being left behind by the difficulty of updating the Wiki. Why are so hung up on this one, Mr. Senator?

I hope the Atlasian NPR can get Paula Poundstone, too.

Quick note:

To quote our beloved and reliable Wiki, which Ebowed claims is accurate and efficient in keeping everything up to date:

I would like to thank Ebowed for his most recent election victory in August of 2007, and am curious as to why there is no mention of his VP run.

I am sorry to hear that apparantly Bacon King's lastest public service is not the senate, but rather Secretary of Defense.

Sensei, Im glad to see you finally dropped out of the Fall 2007 primary and are endorsing Colin for re-election.

Congrats to EarlAW on his continued service to the senate.

Im glad to see the Atlasian Messenger is running smoothly.

Interesting that there is a unanimous historical recount of the GM position:

Then why is it called 'National Public Radio' and funded through the National Endowment for the Humanities (I'm assuming this, because the bill we're working with doesn't mention what kind of funding this gets or where it comes from)?  Why not simply say, "The President shall appoint a random dude to record the modern history of Atlasia under the pretense of objectivity" and then we'll all be on our merry way?

The problems are numerous, though.  How often does he have to update?  Surely, not daily, because sometimes weeks and months pass before anything remotely interesting happens at this place.  Without bias or opinion?  You must be kidding.

Increasing the number of Senate appointments isn't exactly a great idea either.  We slash the cabinet in half and then decide to start creating new positions after all?  hmm

If the Wiki sucks, then don't just ignore it and create another project which will inevitably fail.

First of all the "bias" part and name choice are semantics, and you know it, so Im passing on even arguing that.

As for everything other question:

When the President or the semate dont like the Historian, they can him. So if he's doing a good job, he'll keep his job. Seemed like an easy enough concept to me.

You give me examples of how the Wiki is outdated, so the solution is to just create another project, without any specifics or guidance whatsoever?

I can guarantee you that when this bill passes, the 'head of NPR' will be a meaningless position that does nothing within two months, maximum.

Ill bite. Prove me wrong Ebowed, and pass this thing. Youre honestly gonna bet me that we cant find a person to simply type a post every few days discussing things everyone already knows at the time? Ill take this one any day of the week.

I have no doubt that we can find a person to write it, I simply don't think there's going to be anyone to read it.

A meaningless job is nothing more than that, a meaningless job.

As I have said before, I'll take the job. Watch me, Ebowed. Just you wait.

A good reason to vote against the bill.
